Sally Hansen - Lavender Cloud

Hey there!

Did everyone enjoy their long weekend? I know I did! :D Today I am showing you a polish that I recently got at CVS during their 75% off sale! This is Sally Hansen CSM - Lavender Cloud. I have been wanting this polish for so long, but just never wanted to shell out the $7-8 for it. So when I found out that the sale included some CSM colors I knew  I needed to get my hands on this one!

This is an extremely light lavender, and looks white to most people. But that is what I like about this so much, because it is not just a boring chalky white. The coverage wasn't too bad for such a light color, it was opaque in 3 medium coats.

Thoughts on Lavender Cloud? Did you pick this up or any other CSM polishes during the CVS 50-75% off sale?

Revlon - Royal

Hey there!

Happy Memorial Day! :) Today I am showing you a pretty dark cobalt blue that I recently purchased at CVS. Here's a little story of how I ended up purchasing Royal. So I was at CVS and noticed the Wet n' Wild Mermaid's Cove collection.. a full display! So I purchased Sea Witch, Diving for Pearls and Atlantis. With this purchase I got $5 extra bucks. Thennnn I saw a display of Revlon Top Speed polishes, with a little sticker thing saying, $4.99 with $4 extra bucks back... soooo I used my $5 extra bucks to buy this, and then got $4 EB back!!!! Whaaat a deal!

My feelings on Royal are mixed.. I absolutely love the bottle color. It is a deep yet bright cobalt blue, and the name totally fits it, it's royal looking. However I'm not the biggest fan of the formula. It took three coats to become fully opaque and it was almost jelly-ish.

Royal is unlike anything else I own, so the collector in me is glad that I made this purchase, but let's just say this didn't last too long on me. I removed it about two hours later.:D

What are your thoughts on Royal? I loved the bottle color, but it just didn't come through for me on the nail. Boo!

Enjoy your Memorial Day!!!

OPI - Spark de Triomphe

Good Morning!

Today I am showing you a polish that I got right when it was first released, but I haven't had a chance to wear it until now (Memorial Day Weekend) because it's so bling-y and not too 'work appropriate'. This beaaaaautiful polish is OPI - Spark de Triomphe, from the Limited edition Serena Williams Glam Slam France Duo that was released in May :D

As soon as I saw swatches, I knew I needed this polish and could not miss my chance at getting it. Long story short, I ordered it from TransDesign, and now that I finally got a chance to wear it, I'm in love! Check it out :)

Wowowowowowowow!! This is a dense glitter with different size hex glitter in it. Its gorgeous. I read on a blog  (I forget who!) but they layered SdT over Zoya Jules, I did this too, it gives the same effect without having to use up as much of this precious polish, and hopefully it will wear better than just having multiple layers of straight up glitter.

What do you think of Spark de Triomphe? Did you manage to get your hands on this Limited Edition duo set??

Sally Hansen - Summer Plum

Hi!

Today I am showing you the second polish that I got from the Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Spring 2011 collection. This one is Summer Plum, I got it at Target last week when Delphinium was sold out, I went there on a mission for Delphinium, but when it was gone I decided that I wasn't going to leave without getting one of the new shades, and this is the one I picked!

This is a totally perfect dark berry/brown shade for Spring, and something different compared to all the other spring releases out there floating around. This is an edgy shade yet I still think that it is work appropriate. Check out Summer Plum!

Shown above is two creamy coats of Summer Plum, application was a dream and I ended up liking this color a lot more than I thought I would! Also - what are your thoughts on how this compares to RBL Bruised? I don't have that to compare it to, but from looking online they look like they could be cousins.

Mermaids Tears + White Cap

Hellllo!

My schedule has been nuts lately, so I apologize if there is a lack of posts in the near future, because I just don't have time! But anyway, like I said, I have very little time, so instead of doing a whole new mani today, I decided to change it up and add China Glaze - White Cap to spruce up my mani and give it a fun sparkly look!

Oh yes, White Cap you did it again, you always mesmerize me.

Thanks for reading my short little post today!

OPI - Mermaid's Tears

Hello!

Today I am showing you the second polish I got from the OPI Summer 2011 Limited Edition Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides collection. First, did anyone see the movie? I haven't yet, I want to, but since I am not working this summer (well.. not getting paid) I don't really have disposable income to go to the movies, so I am going to wait til it comes out on DVD and Redbox it :D

So this is Mermaid's Tears, when the promo pics came out at first I was so excited about this one, and don't get me wrong it's a great medium minty green thats kind of muted, but I am not as wowed as I was expecting to be. The thing I actually love most about this polish is the name. But it is still a nice color!

The formula was great on this, and it went opaque in just two smooth coats. Sooo thoughts on Mermaid's Tears? I think that I just have a TON of minty greens that they have to be super unique for me to totally love them. I just *like* this one :D

OPI - Bare it in Trafalgar Square

Hi there!

Today I am showing you a great black label OPI - Bare it in Trafalgar Square, I don't even know what collection this is from, I just know that its old and the formula is NOT Big 3 Free, and the smell is awful, but totally worth it :P. I got this polish on e-bay for around $6 with free shipping, so it was a pretty good deal, after seeing it on a few blogs I decided that I needed to try out this edgy neutral and I am so glad that I did!

Soooo edgy! This went on opaque in almost 2 coats but I did 3 just to be safe. I'm thinking tomorrow I might add CG - White Cap to it to spice it up a bit. But overall I love this polish and I think I will be grabbing for it a lot in the future.

ALSO - CVS is having their semiannual sale (50-75% off tons of cosmetics including Essie - A French Affair collection) so be sure to stop by your local CVS to get some great deals! For more info on what's included in the sale check out Nouveau Cheap  :D

What are your thoughts on Bare it in Trafalgar Sq? Are you planning on taking part in the CVS sale? I know I am!

Sinful Colors - Cream Pink (!!!!!!!!!)

Hellllo!

Today I am showing you a color  that I could not wait to wear. That is Sinful Colors - Cream Pink. This is a gorgeous bright neon pink with gold shimmer running through it. I usually try to steer clear from neons because I don't find them to be extremely practical, but at $1.99 I could not pass this up. The gold shimmer makes this one absolutely gorgeous and perfect for this time of year.

My camera didn't do the best job at capturing this gorgeous neon shade, but check it out!

The formula alone is amazing, above is only two coats of Cream Pink (the name isn't too original.. but whatever) and it went on perrrrfectly! At $1.99 this is one of the best deals I have ever gotten, and I reallly really like this shade especially with that gold shimmer.. whew!

What are your thoughts on Cream Pink? Are you into neons like this or are they too bright for you?

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sally Hansen - Barracuda

Hi!

Today I am showing you a recent deal that I found at Target, Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen - Barracuda. This polish is limited edition from the Spring 2011 collection. I have a ton of light blue polishes, but since this was only $5 andddd LE, I had to get it :D I have a soft spot for pastels. So here is Barracuda.

Now that I got this one, which is beautiful I must say! I wanted to get Delphinium (the light lavender from the same collection) but went to Target today and it was sold out. So I settled on Summer Plum, which looks like it could be similar to RBL Bruised, so I'm hoping someone will do a comparison of the two!

What do you think of Barracuda? Did you get any polishes from this LE line?

OPI - Diva of Geneva

Helllooo!

I don't have a whole lot of time to post right now, so I am going to keep it short and sweet! Today I am showing you OPI - Diva of Geneva from the Fall 2010 Swiss collection. Let me just tell you, I absolutely love this shade, it is the perfect mix of berry and shimmer and just utter perfection. Take a look!

What you see here is two coats of Diva of Geneva. How pretty is this?! Loooove!

Sally Hansen X-treme wear - Mystic Lilac

Hello there!

Today I am showing you a polish that I recently got in a swap that I have been wanting forever, but could not seem to find it ANYWHERE! That is Sally Hansen - Mystic Lilac. I read so many amazing reviews about this polish and had to wait for the right opportunity to snatch it up! And that just so happened to be in a swap :D

This is a beautiful  dusty lilac with green shimmer! Two colors that you think wouldn't look good together, but feast your eyes on this beauty!

Direct sunlight*

With flash*

Above is three coats, it was pretty sheer and watery at first but built up REALLY nicely! What do you think about Mystic Lilac? Were you able to get your hands on this LE shade?

Misa - Blush Hour

Hi there!

I am showing you today a polish that I have been wanting for awhile but never got around to ordering, Misa - Blush Hour. When swatches of the Spring 9-5 collection came out Blush Hour immediately grabbed my attention. It is what I have been looking for, an opaque ballerina pink. I knew I had to have it, but because of lack of availability to me, I had to wait for my next TransDesign or H2TBeauty order.

That order was placed when I HAD to have Spark de Triomphe, so I figured what the hell, and got Blush Hour at the same time.

I had saved this polish to wear for my first day of my internship, I figured it was fitting because I will be working 9-5, and it was office appropriate, so until I find out their policy on nail polish, its work appropriate colors for this girl! Check it out--

I am extremely pleased with this polish, it is a wonderful pale opaque in 2-3 coats, and not too chalky or streaky. What do you think?

By the time this post is posted for lack of a better word, I will have already had my first day at my internship.. as I am typing this (Sunday) it is tomorrow... ahhh I have butterflies!

Suzi Skis and Layering Fun!

Hi!

As I promised yesterday, I am showing you some layering options that I tried over Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees by OPI.

The first one is OPI - I Juggle... Men from the Femme de Cirque Soft Shades collection for Spring 2011. I got this the other day after wanting it for quite some time, and finding that it was sold out pretty much every place I looked! But I finally stumbled upon a salon in my hometown that had all 3 Spring collections fully in stock, score!

Above is just one coat of I Juggle..Men on my ring finger as an accent nail, and my camera couldnt really capture the true iridescent shimmer in this polish. It is a beauty though, and adds a little work appropriate bling to any manicure! A+ In my book! The only downside was the shrinking that this polish caused.

The other night I went to Target, and after my first Sinful Colors experience I needed more! So I picked up two more. This one is called Pinky Glitter. I really like how it changed the color of Suzi Skis in just one coat and the effect that it made on my nails. To me it kind of reminds me of what outer space might look like, very cosmic-like. It's a win in my book!

The other Sinful Colors polish I got is called Cream Pink, it's a hot pink with gold shimmer, I can't wait to try it! What do you think of I Juggle..Men and Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter? Do you own either? Have any fun layering options for me to try out? :D

Thank you for stopping by!

OPI - Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees

Hello!

On my dusty hunting adventure the other day I came across this beauty; OPI - Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees, which is from the Spain collection from (I think) Fall 2009. This caught my eye because it was such an interesting color and in the low light setting I could see a faint hint of shimmer. You know how I feel about shimmer ;-)

This is a dark charcoal/navy, I think it kind of resembles Zoya Kelly but this is much darker. Take a look!

Enlarge the picture to see the blue shimmer, it's totally gorgeous! Shown above is three coats and a top coat of SV. I had no application issues and it was a true beauty from start to finish. I actually played around with this polish a bit by adding some glitter which I will show you tomorrow!

What do you think? I know it's a little dark for this time of year, but I don't follow the rules :D

A Dusty Hunting Fail.

Hey there!

The other day I went on my first dusty hunt with my friend Kathleen who is home for the summer. It all started when she asked if I had crackle/shatter nail polish, and that if I don't, they sell it at the place where she gets her hair done. She then went on to tell me that they have a basket with 50% off nail polish. COUNT ME IN!

We then decided to make it an adventure and go to a few other salons around town. My first dusty hunting excursion! The first place we went to didn't have much, however they did have OPI Paris Couture for Sure which I wish I would have gotten, maybe next time!

At our next stop I found an OPI mini of UNRIPENED!! What a find! :) After a few more stops I went to the last salon where I found it..... Peel me a Gobi Grape..

Only to find out, that it's not for sale.... WHAT a bummer. It was in my hands.. and I couldn't have it! What a tease! But I decided that I am going to get a manicure there with this polish, so at least I can have it on my nails once, if not in my collection!

But now that I have gone hunting once, I want to do it again and again! So addicting!

Thanks for reading about my major fail! :D

Sophy Robson inspired Color Changing Mani

Hello!

I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately and I came across one by Sophy Robson about a color changing manicure. I started watching and thought to myself, this is easy enough- I can do this! The color ranges from Essie- Lapis of Luxury to AA - Malibu Green but I substituted that for Essie - Going Incognito. With jade, seafoam and pretty colors in  between!

Check it out :)

Thumb- Essie Going Incognito
Pointer- Misa Dirty Sexy money
Middle - Avon Jade
Ring- Sally Hansen Gentle Blossom
Pinky- Essie Lapis of Luxury

BY THE WAY, how hard is it to get your thumb in pictures without making your hands look like contortionists. Like... so hard! This was the best I could do.

What do you think of this changing mani? I personally like the distinct difference in the colors from nail to nail.

Milani - Silver Dazzle

Hi there!

I was finally able to get my hands on a long time lemming- Milani Silver Dazzle from the 'One Coat' Rockstar Heavy Glitter Collection. I had looked high and low for this polish, kind of gave up for awhile, and then after seeing All Lacquered Up's review, I decided that I needed it again! So I was finally able to get this in a swap on Makeup Alley and I am so so so SO happy that it is finally mine!

This polish really did not let me down, it is everything I had wanted! So check it out :D

 Without topcoat
With topcoat

How AMAZING?!! Ahhh its like a black and silver glitter party! The only downside is the wear... it chipped very easily, but hey it just gives me another reason to change my mani :)

Overall, whats not to love about this? Did you try any other of the Rockstar Heavy Glitters? Thoughts? Love/Hate?

Thanks for stopping by!

China Glaze- Senorita Bonita

Hey!

Today I am showing you the only polish that I got from the China Glaze Island Escape Summer 2011 collection. This collection did not thrill me that much, I found most of them have been done before "Florals, for spring? Groundbreaking" -Miranda Priestly, The Devil Wears Prada -- those were my thoughts on this collection.. Brights, for summer?

Anywho, after seeing swatches I decided to pick up Senorita Bonita. Part of me wanted to get this polish for the name (my sister is a soon to be Spanish teacher) and also because my favorite color is purple AND there are tiny flakies. I said it... flakies!

Ooooooh! This color is the epitome of summer, so bright and perfect! Shown above is three coats of SB and I had absolutely no issues with application.

What were your thoughts on the Island Escape collection? Did you pick up any? If so which ones? :D

White Shatter... meh

Oh hi!

Thanks blogger, for deleting all of my scheduled posts for the weekend.. GRR! So now I have to retype everything that I had already done...so it's not gonna be as good the second time around, but hey what can ya do?

Here I am showing you OPI White Shatter that I got in the Glam Slam France duo pack with Spark de Triomphe shown over Planks a Lot. I really don't know what to think about WS, I absolutely loved Black Shatter, but white is just not my style. To me it kinda just looks trashy. Look for yourself!

Not a fan. What do you think??

OPI - Planks a Lot

Hola!

My TransDesign purchase FINALLY arrived, after much stalking of FedEx, its here! I ordered a few polishes and now that they have arrived I WISH I would have bought more Misas.. specifically more from the Wishes collection. So if anyone out there has some that they don't like or aren't using - hit me up, I'd love to swap for them!!

Moving on- the polish from my haul that I decided to try first was OPI Planks a Lot from the Summer 2011 Pirates of the Caribbean collection. Let me just say, it was hard for me to not order this entire collection, I still want Mermaid's Tears and of course Silver Shatter but those were out of stock when I placed my order, so I will have to hunt them down somewhere else.

Planks a Lot is a gorgeous mid toned purple. I absolutely love this, it went on beautifully in two coats and I just can't say enough good things about this color, it is unlike anything in my collection, and total perfection in my opinion. Look for yourself!

My camera did a horrible job of capturing the true color, so I tried my best in editing, and this was as close as I got. Instead of a blue based purple I would say that Planks a Lot is warm toned, but still looks nice on my cool skintone.

What are your thoughts on Planks a Lot and the Pirates of the Caribbean collection? What are you planning on picking up, or what have you picked up from this Limited Edition Collection?

Misa - Dirty Sexy Money

Hi there :D

Today I have to show you one of my long time lemmings- Misa Dirty Sexy Money. One of the things I love most about this polish is the amazing name.. while I was wearing this I was just dying for someone to ask me what I was wearing on my nails so I could say it! It sounds so cool, and looks even cooler.

Misa formula never ceases to amaze me. I absolutely love Misa and wish that it was more readily available to me, but the only way I can get it is online through H2T Beauty and TransDesign, or on the Misa website. But regardless, every polish I have tried by Misa has been amazing and the formula is spot on.

Shown below is two coats of Dirty Sexy Money and a top coat of SV. Take a look!

Mmmmm! I love it. DSM$ is like a murky green/blue. Not quite the color of money, but totally gorgeous. What do you think?

My (amazing!) Private Jet - teal flash version

Hi all!

Today I am showing you one of the so called My Private Jet "flops". This is one of the many versions that OPI has released since the MPJ original holo madness. One thing I will never understand is why did they have to change up the color? Why not just remake the exact same MPJ so we could all enjoy without being confused on the 4 different versions? ANYWAY! I have recently swapped for one of the duds, and I absolutely love it.

To me, this teal flash beauty is not a dud, and no where near! I know its not the original, but its fabulous and deserves some love. Check it out!

!@#$%^&*( !!!!!!!!!!

Maybe its because I have never seen the original MPJ in person, but I really love this polish, and it is one of my top 10 favorite polishes ever, that's saying a lot!

What do you think about this so called "dud" Teal Flash MPJ? Not as good as the original? Even better?

RBL Iconoclast !

Helllloooo there!

Today was my first official day as a college grad.. and I got so much accomplished! I moved so much stuff today, it's weird how much you can accumulate in just a short amount of time. For example.. I have had the luxury of a walk in closet for the past 3 years, and now that I am back in with my parents, I don't and it sucks. END RANT! :D

So here is RBL Iconoclast, I chose to wear this for my graduation, my dress was floral with a black belt, so I thought that Iconoclast would look good with the accent on my dress. This polish is great, of course because it is Rescue Beauty Lounge, and it is so different than anything I own. Check it out!

Shown is two coats of creamy RBL goodness.. and you can see the fine microshimmer, so it's not just a regular black.. its an amazing unique pink and green microshimmere-d black!

What do you think? Is it worth the $18 pricetag?

Misa - Genie in this Bottle

Hello again!

Sorry I have been MIA for so long, I graduated on Saturday (YAY!) and the internet at my apartment got shut off on Monday so I was unable to post. I am now back at my parents house, what fun, but at least I have internet! :D

In a few posts back I had mentioned that I started swapping on MUA, and in my second swap I recieved Misa - Genie in this Bottle, which might I add; have been lemming so hard since the Wishes collection came out this spring. After trying this one I think I NEED the entire collection.. this one is work appropriate yet so chic, so here it is!

*I also got Misa - Dirty Sexy Money in the swap with I will post in a few days!

Ahhh I love it! Whats not to love? A beautiful grey/lavender/pink packed with microshimmer.. what a beauty! Shown here is three coats. The formula was a little thick, but not unmanageable.

Have any of you tried Genie in this Bottle? Did you love it as much as I do?

I've been bad!

Sorry no pics for today, how boring I know. But I have a confession.

Last night I saw swatches of OPI Spark de Triomphe and fell. in. love. So I started trolling the internet looking for where I could buy it.. landed on TransDesign.com. I have never ordered from this site, I've ordered from head2toebeauty before, but this site is even better because it has OPI!

So anywho I saw on the site that I could pre order Spark and it will ship Thursday, well, I was milling around about making the purchase, but kept the window up on my computer so I could decide later. Today I got on TD and it was sold out.... however, the window was still up on my computer so I ordered it along with a few other polishes, and have yet to receive an e-mail saying that it's out of stock. So I'm crossing my fingers hoping that since it was in my cart this whole time I had it reserved, idk!

But seriously, look at swatches of Spark de Triomphe HERE and you'll know why I went crazy. The confession is, I am currently on a no buy because I won't be working this summer, so I need to save $$$.. but I considered it to be a grad present to myself :D

I lied, here is a picture- my sister Abby and I infront of the ARC de Triomphe in Paris :D

SWEEET, I thought it was fitting based on the lengthy rant I went on earlier about Spark de Triomphe :D

Sula- Paint and Peel - Crush

Hello!

I just took my last final. (WOO HOO!) I have one presentation tomorrow and then that's it :D A few weeks ago I went shopping with my boyfriend and stopped in Big Lots because I heard that Sula- Paint and Peel was available there. I found some and picked up 2 colors - Azure and Crush. They were each only $2.50 compared to $10 on their website.

Originally I liked the idea of the paint and peels, but it was such a mess. The color that I am showing you today- Crush took three coats to become opaque and the textutre of the polish was extremely runny (it is water based, so I guess that is why) and everything I did would show marks on my nails, like after it was dry there were scratch marks on the polish... that's never happened to me before!

Without further ado, here is Sula- Crush

I only had this on for about 6 hours. I couldn't wait to take it off because it was just the weirdest polish I've ever worn. But to me the color is nothing to write home about, it's just a purple creme, and the formula is awful. The collector in me will hang on to this simply to have it, but that's all!

Have any of you ever tried Sula Pain and Peel polishes? Did you have better luck than me??

Zoya - Apple!

Hi everyone!

It's finals week for me, and totally crazy. I only have 3 finals but studying is consuming my life! So I'm taking a quick break right now to show you Zoya Apple which I got in the Summer BOGO awhile ago. I don't know what took me so long to try this out.. I think I was scared of how it would look on me, because it has somewhat of a yellow base, but check it out- it's not too shabby!

This is 3 coats of Apple, how pretty is this? I love the bright green and yellow flashes that this polish has, and I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to try it!

Thanks for reading, now back to studying! :D
