Barielle - Elle's Spell

Hey Readers!

So yesterday I showed you a really cool brown, and today I am showing you a very pretty girl - Barielle - Elle's Spell layered over top of it!

I received Elle's Spell in a swap (I am all about swapping lately!) And put it on right away over what I was already wearing, which was Totally Toffee. And the combo is amazing! Look for yourself!

It was super hard to capture the flakies on camera, but they just light up! I think this layering combo really works for Elle's Spell and let's the base color really shine through over top of the base. I am excited to try more layering combos with Elle's Spell!

What do you think about this pretty flakie layering combo?? Do you have any ideas that I should try with Elles Spell?

Thanks for stopping by!

An Unexpected Love!

Hi there!

Today I am going to show you a polish that I received as an extra in a recent swap, Revlon Totally Toffee. This is a color that I automatically assumed would NEVER look good on me, and I would never have bought myself. However, since I am sort of on a no-buy, I was going through my untrieds one night, and thought I would give this baby a chance. And boy am I glad I did.. see why :D

I am loving this. I think it looks good on my skintone, which I never thought a brown this light/warm would do! Above is a creamy and smooth two coats, with a top coat. There were absolutely no application issues at all, and I am just so impressed!

I kind of wrote Revlon off awhile ago after consistently disappointing me (I'm looking at you, Minted) so this was such a happy surprise.

What do you think about Totally Toffee? Has nail polish ever surprised you before like this did to me?

Nicole by OPI - Justin Beiber - Me + Blue

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posting lately.. I've been crazy busy applying for jobs and working all day, everyday, I barely find time to shower and eat! But anyway, I have been keeping up with taking pictures of my manis, it's just getting around to posting them that I don't have time fore, but anyway enough of that, here is a polish that I recently purchased in a blogsale, it's Nicole by OPI from the Justin Beiber collection - Me + Blue.

This is a medium blue with holographic glitter in it. I wasn't overly wow-ed by the application, because it was super thick and goopy, but it turned out nicely, take a look..

It's hard to see the holo glitter, but it's there in real life- trust me! I heard that the finish on this was super gritty, so I used a regular top coat before applying Seche Vite to top it off, and it smoothed out pretty nicely.

Only one complaint: wear. I was able to wear this mani for barely 24 hours until it started chipping off in entire  nail pieces. What is up with that?

So thoughts on Me + Blue? It's very pretty, but I don't see myself grabbing for it too much in the future.

Hauls & yet another giveaway reminder :)

Hellllo there!!

Today I am going to post two of my most recent hauls. These are from CultNails.com and Rite Aid. Check out my goodies!!

Here is my Cult Nails haul. They came wrapped in this cool material. It felt like it was some sort of recycled fabric.. really cool!
I apologize for the bad pic that is not even close to being color accurate.. I was in a hurry!! But I got - Cruisin Nude, Captivated and Let Me Fly. Can't wait to try these!!!

And here is what I got at Rite Aid today. I finally found the Sinful Colors Adventure Island collection, so I picked up from L-R Easy Going, Starfish (Sparrow me the Drama dupe) and Seaweed (Stranger Tides dupe) . I then found a full display of the new Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polishes. So I picked up Frozen Solid, a light blue foily polish. I could have gotten so much more.. but I'm supposed to be on a 'no-buy' woops.. so much for that!

Finally - Please don't forget about my giveaway that ends on Saturday! Tell your friends - wouldn't it be cool for me to get 100 followers during my 50 follower giveaway? I think yes :) Thanks everyone!

Giveaway Reminder & Sinful Colors - Purple Diamond

Hola!

Just reminding everyone again, that my giveaway ends on Saturday at 11:59 PM, so you have two days to enter!!!

Today I am showing you a polish that I purchased a few weeks ago from my local Target, that is Sinful Colors- Purple Diamond. Geez I am realling loving up on the Sinful Colors lately! But as I have said before, what's not to love.

Purple Diamond was a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong, it is totally gorgeous, but it is extremely sheer and must be layered over another color unless you want 7903290 coats. I layered one coat of Purple Diamond over Zoya - Perrie. I like the combination, but I think it does something weird to my skin tone.. check it out

This is soooo shimmery. I just wish it was a bit more opaque!!

CoverGirl - Purplexed

Hey there!

Today I am showing you a polish that I recently received in a swap. This particular swap was the most random thing ever, let me explain. So a MUAer and I decided to have a multiswap, I shipped on the agreed ship date, she didn't ship until a week later.. then when the package finally arrived, she sent me back the 3 that I sent her, and this.... like, explain to me who does that?

Anyway! That swap was a total fail, because I secretly hate Perplex. This polish was extremely watery, and application just sucked in general. I thought that it was going to be more duochrome-y but the bottle color does not translate to the nail, and it was just miserable for me. Just look for yourself.

It's not THAT bad... but it's not good by any means. I think it is going to go back up for swap. I just don't see myself wearing this ever again. But what do you think? Should I give it another shot?

Sinful Colors - Casablanca

Hi there!

I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday so far. I want to remind you that my giveaway ends this Saturday - so be sure to enter if you haven't yet! You can find the link in my pages tabs above ^^^^^ :D I am very blogger illiterate and couldn't figure out how to make a link to it on my sidebar.. so a page will have to do.

Today I am showing you Sinful Colors - Casablanca. I got this shade from the Spring 2011 Lonestar collection at Rite Aid. I don't know if this is a new release polish, or if they just added it into the collection, either way, it caught my eye, so I picked it up! For $1.99 you really can't go wrong, and all other SC polishes have impressed me so far, so I gave this a chance.

Above is 2-3 coats, I did 2 on some nails, and 3 on others where there were slight bald spots. As you can see it's kind of brush-strokey, but that mostly went away with a top coat. Overall I really like Casablanca, I think it is a nice metallic for those who don't want to wear such an 'in your face' metallic, this is somewhat subdued.

I am so impressed with Sinful Colors, and this does not stop my love for that brand! What are your opinions on Casablanca?

Thanks for stopping by!

Wet n' Wild - Atlantis

Hi!

Oh how I love glitter nail polish. I really do. Straight up full on glitter party nails are my absolute favorite. So when Wet n' Wild released their Summer 2011 Mermaid's Cove collection I knew Atlantis had to be mine. This is a lovely rose pink with light pink, silver, and darker pink glitter.

I am loving this! Take a look..

Shown above is three coats of Atlantis. I just think this is super gorgeous and would look great on any skin tone. What do you think? Did you pick up this or any other colors from the Mermaid's Cove collection? I believe Mermaids Cove is LE so if you are able to find this display anywhere I strongly suggest picking up Atlantis if you like glitter!!

essie - Going Incognito

Hey there!

First I'd like to thank all the new followers out there! I really love blogging, and I love even more that people take the time to read what I have to post.. so that's that!

Today I am showing you one of my favorite essie's - Going Incognito. There is something about this green that is so different from anything else I own. It has hints of blue, but it's so deep. The formula on this was amazing, and it flowed nicely on my nails in two coats. Check it out!

So lovely! This came out for Fall 2010 in the same collection as the much sought after 'Smokin Hot' that I regretfully did not pick up. But what do you think about Going Incognito? Love it? Hate it?

essie - French Affair

Hi there!

I just got home from a family reunion.. how fun. Just kidding, it wasn't too bad, just not how I would like to spend my Saturday afternoon! So today I am going to show you French Affair by essie. From the (what do you know..) French Affair Spring 2011 collection. I picked this up when it was on sale at CVS otherwise I don't know if I ever would have gotten it, these kind of pastel pinks always look good on other people and not me!

But check it out, here is French Affair

This is a cool toned and blue based pastel retro pink. I ended up really liking the color of this, it popped out and I was always looking down at my nails. Colors like this remind me of my childhood days of being a girly girl, oh the good old days :D

What do you think of French Affair? Did you pick up any others from this collection? I ended up with this, Coat Azure and Sand Tropez, it was a pretty nice spring collection in my opinion!

Mr. Wrong & My Giveaway!

Hey there!

Just writing a short post today to show you Hard Candy - Mr. Wrong. This is one of my favorite polishes because it was one of the first that I got that was truly unique and different to me. There's just something about the dark blue/purple and gold shimmer that trips my trigger, I love it!

So pretty! The only thing about this polish that I had trouble with is dry time. It took forevvvverrr. But I guess that's the price you have to pay! What do you think about Mr. Wrong? I think it's sooo right!

Also, don't forget to enter my 50 follower giveaway for a chance to win OPI Paris Couture for Sure :D

Sally Hansen CSM - Fedora

Hi!

Another short post today, I need more hours in a day, seriously! But I will let the polish do the talking in this post, because it is truly one of a kind and absolutely to dieee for. This is Sally Hansen Fedora. This only required two coats for opacity, and the finish is shimmery-madness! Look!

OoOoOoOoOoh! Thoughts on Fedora? This was a limited edition Tracy Reese polish from (I think) Fall 2011, it was in the same collection as Problem Child and Sequin Scandal, I know that much. Did you get any of these while they were available?

Thanks for stopping by!

Sinful Colors - Hazard

Hello there!

Amidst the craziness of job hunting I am still finding time to post (this is my therapeutic relief!) But anywho, job hunting is seriously the worst.. I haven't really sent out my application anywhere yet- I'm kind of nervous to. I don't want to join the "real world" yet! Boo! Well enough of my ramblings - I am showing you Sinful Colors - Hazard today.

Can I just say how much I love Sinful Colors? This weekend I went on a hunt for the new Pirates dupe collection, and didn't find it, but I secretly love how they come out with colors that are similar to more expensive ones for cheaper! This doesn't steer me away from purchasing my favorite brands still, but I like that they make polish more affordable for other people.

So this is Hazard, I received this as an extra in a swap a few months back and it has been staring at me in my untrieds for awhile- so here she is, finally!

I usually haaaaate colors like this, I feel like they really don't look good with my skin tone, and they're just not my color. However I kind of like Hazard, in a way that it is totally not me, but I think it works. Regardless, this is a great color for summer and I think it would work nicely as a pedi.

What do you think about Hazard? Do you fall for colors like this? Or are you more like me and run in the other direction?

Thanks for reading, and remember... 2 more followers, my giveaway is ready!!

essie - Your Hut or Mine?

Hi all!

This weekend went by way too fast.. just saying! Today I am going to show you a newly released essie that I am so happy I was able to get my hands on so early! Usually I wait around to get new collections to see plenty of reviews til I make a purchase, but I had to have this right away, it's tooo good!

This is essie - Your Hut or Mine? This is a dusty pink/rose with golden shimmer running through it. I am completely smitten with this, something about this reminds me of Chanel - Morning Rose, it must be the shimmer, because MR and YHoM are very different! Anywhooo check this sassy girl out!

There is something about essie and their formula, and the amazing SHIMMER lately! I am talking- Smooth Sailing, Coat Azure, THIS.. I don't know what it is, but I am l-o-v-i-n-g it.

Above is only two coats of Your Hut or Mine, and how pretty is this? Are you loving it as much as I am? In all honesty- if I were you I would run to get my hands on this, because I have a feeling it is going to be one of those hard to find colors in a few years, its too gorgeous and I really think it will flatter all skin tones.

Thank you for reading!

Wet n' Wild - Shield

Hi there!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday.. I know I am! I live for the weekends now that I work 40 hours a week and have a taste of the real world. Today I am showing you a great gold that I purchased a little while ago from CVS, that is Wet n' Wild - Shield.

I originally purchased this with the intention of putting it in my giveaway, but... I'm sorry, I love it too much! I am going to keep this one for myself, you'll understand why when you see the picture of this beauty!

Ahhhh I love everything about this. The fact that it is a different kind of gold than you typically see, the fact that it was only $1.. and those pretty little copper pieces that may be hard to see in this pic, but enlarge it, they are amazing!

Do you own Shield? Would you purchase it if you came across it?

Thanks for checking out Shield!

Rimmel London - Marine Blue

Hi there!!

First things first - I only need 3 MORE FOLLOWERS to reach 50! I am planning a giveaway- so let's make it happen people!!!

Second, today I am showing you a polish from my CVS 50-75% off sale Haul. This one was only $1.12 and it is gorgeous! This is Rimmel London - Marine Blue. When I first picked this up, I thought it looked like every other turquoise/blue-green/green-blue that I own, but this is so different. There is shimmer that makes this look almost duochrome, and I am in love!

This polish went on SO smooth, and was opaque in two coats, but I did three just for intensity. This is serious amaze-balls. For $1.12.. I would say this could be one of my best deals YET! I love it.

Do you own any of the Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro nail polishes? What do you think about Marine Blue? DON'T FORGET TO TELL YOUR BLOGGER FRIENDS TO FOLLOW MEEE!! :D

Thanks for stopping people!

Wet n' Wild - Sea Witch

Hi there!

GOOD NEWS!!!! There is an Ulta opening up 25 minutes from me! Which is amazing- because the closest one now is almost 2 hours away! As you can imagine when I heard this news I started jumping for joy! I can't wait, it's seriously like Disney World! So that is the word :D Today I am showing you a totally gorgeous shade from the Wet n' Wild Mermaid's Cove Summer collection - Sea Witch.

I first bought this because in the light at CVS it had this amazing blue duo-chrome goodness to it, and then when I got it home, I thought it looked strangely similar to a polish I have been wanting for awhile now - Orly Royal Velvet. I don't own RV but from the pictures I see online, they look like they could be close, and Sea Witch was only $1.99, so that's good enough for me! Check it out!

OoOoOoOoooooh! I see you  Sea Witch! What a beauty! This is three coats and it dried pretty fast too! What are your thoughts? Is it dupe-y enough to Royal Velvet to kill my lemming for it?

Thank you so much for reading!

P.S. Only 3 more followers til I reach 50! I will have to start planning something! :D

SH - Back to the Fuchsia

Hi thereee!

Today I am going to show you one of the first polishes that started my obsession.. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Back to the Fuchsia. The entire CSM line really got me into nail polish last summer, I ended up buying most of the core line, and then realized that there were other brands out there, and started branching out!

Back to the Fuchsia is a gorgeous bright, yet wearable pink, and so perfect for summer. This polish  also has a blue micro shimmer than can be seen under different types of lights- check out this gorgeous shade!

Shown above is three thin coats of BttF, the formula rocks and I actually like the wide Sally Hansen brush, that so many of you hate! What are your thoughts on Back to the Fuchsia? I'm lovin' it!

SH Delphinium with Crackle Overcoat!

Hellooo!

As some of you may know, the new Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat polishes are on sale this week at CVS for $4.99. I took this opportunity to pick up 'Antiqued Gold'. I was excited about getting this because the idea of a gold crackle to me is so fun. However it was semi disappointing. I think it's because I used it over Delphinium and there is not enough of a contrast between the two to make it stand out.

The formula was okay, pretty much the same as any other crackle/shatter polish, and I imagine it will get thick with use. But  check out the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Antiqued Gold!

I am definitely excited to play around with this a bit more, and I think it would look great over darker or brighter colors so there is more of a visible contrast!

What do you think about the Crackle Overcoat polishes? Are you planning on picking any up during the sale? If so which ones?

Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen - Delphinium

Hola!

I am so happy that I got my hands on this gorgeous limited edition Spring 2011 Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure color - Delphinium. When I first saw this display I didn't pick up any colors. Then I regretted it, because the nail polish collector that I am knew that they were LE, and will someday be hard to find, so why not get a few while I can even if I am not head over heels.

I started the trend with Barracuda, then saw swatches of Delphinium, and went back to Target - but it was gone, so I picked up Summer Plum instead (looveeee) and then finally snatched up the last bottle of Delphinium a few weeks ago! Go me!

Here is the lovely Delphinium in all her glory :D

I love this dusty lavender. It's gorgeous and I am so happy that I was able to get this while it's still readily available. Shown above is three thin coats of Delphinium. Thoughts on this?

Wet n' Wild - Diving For Pearls

Hellllooo!

I am posting today about a polish I bought a few weeks ago at my favorite store... yep, you guessed it.. CVS. This one is from the Wet n' Wild Mermaid's Cove Summer 2011 collection. The gorgeous shimmer in this polish really drew me in, and though the base color is not all that unique, I can't think of anything I have in my collection that has the same shimmer that this polish has. It's lovely - so check it out!

Shown above is 3 thin coats of Diving For Pearls. What do you think about it?? I am loving that shimmer!

essie - Smooth Sailing

Helllo there!

I will start this post by saying: If you know anything about me, is that I love love love blue nail polish. It is so hard for me to ever pass up a blue. essie - Smooth Sailing was no exception. As soon as I saw swatches of this beauty I knew that it had to be mine. This is unique and stunning, and perfect.

This could very well be in my top 3 favorite blues ever, the formula was AHHH-MAZING, and the shimmer is fabulous.. look for yourself!

I honestly don't have words. I am completely smitten with this, and I actually wish I would have bought a back up bottle.. shown is two coats of SS and the coverage was great! I can't say enough good things!

What do you think of Smooth Sailing? Are you as obsessed as I am?! :D

essie - Sand Tropez

Hey!

TGIF! It's finally Friday! :D I am showing you another neutral today that I purchased during the (once again!) CVS 50-75% off cosmetics sale! This is essie - Sand Tropez from the French Affair Spring 2011 collection. I got this polish pretty much because it was 50% off, and its a shade that I can wear to work. I had really low expectations for this color, but ended up loving it!

The formula is spot on, and went opaque in three coats, I could have easily done two if I was more careful, but three was perfect. Check out Sand Tropez!

Yay! I am beginning to really like neutrals I think this one goes well with my skin tone too! Thoughts on Sand Tropez? Did you pick up any colors from the French Affair collection? I am still trying to get my hands on Kisses & Bises but it's sold out everywhere I look! Don't you hate when that happens?

Sally Hansen HD - Hi Def

Hey there!

As you all know and I have posted before about the 50-75% off CVS sale going on right now on a ton of beauty and cosmetic items. Here is another one of those great purchases! When I know a sale like this is going on, I can't stay away. It's bad, but I justify it with 'but it's such a good deal!"

Here is Sally Hansen HD - Hi Res which was only $1.82. Hellloooo talk about a deal! I am not really a pink kind of girl, I'm more of a green/purple/blue because I think those colors flatter my skin tone better, but I couldn't pass this girl up. Check it out!

I don't know why I didn't get more of these HD shades.. this one is awesome. I love the bright cool toned pink and it's shimmer, it is outstanding in the sun and Hi Res a really fun summer shade, I think it would look even better as a pedi!

Did you pick this up or any other HD polishes from the CVS sale? What are your thoughts on Hi Res? Love it or hate it?

Wet n' Wild - Blue Wants to be a Millionaire

Hello!

Today I am showing you a polish that I recently got for 99 cents at K Mart! That is Wet n' Wild - Blue Wants to be a Millionaire. I think this was the Spring 2011 collection, it is the same one that had Party of 5 Glitters (a Deborah Lippmann semi-dupe) Anyway, this is a super sheer pastel blue with holo glitter bits in it. It caught my eye under the artificial lighting- so check it out!

It's hard to see the fine holo glitter, also this is two coats layered over SH - Lavender Cloud. I wanted to change up that mani, so I put this on over it, and what a beautiful layering combo!

What do you think about Blue Wants to be a Millionaire? Its gorrrrgeous in the sun! And if you can pick it up like I did for 99 cents I would say definitely do it!

Thanks for stopping by!
