Ulta - Taupe on a Rope

Hey peeps!

Today I am showing you Ulta - Taupe on a Rope, which is strikingly similar to China Glaze - Ingrid which I showed last week here. They are both medium brown with gold shimmer running through, but Taupe on a Rope is a few shades lighter, like peanut butter chocolate, if that makes sense, ANYWAY here is Taupe on a Rope

I really like this color, especially since I bought it on sale for $2. It is not the most unique polish I own, but the formula was really easy to work with; which makes it a winner in my book :)

Thanks for reading!

Zoya - Yara

Hello!

Ladies and Gents, this is Zoya Yara, the perfectly sparkly yet subdued green polish from the Zoya Fall 2011 Smoke and Mirrors, I am going to let this speak for itself.

What. A. Stunner. Seriously. Green is not really a color that I am typically drawn to; I am more of a blue, turquoise and purple gal, but this is amazing, and so perfect for Fall!  The formula on this baby was also spot on, opaque in two easy coats. What is not to love!?

Zoya polishes retail for $8 and can be purchased here :) Also I have seen a few of the Zoya collections (Smoke & Mirrors and Touch) at Ulta!

What do you think about Yara? Did you pick up this or any of the other colors from Smoke & Mirrors collection?

butter LONDON bogo sale.. a little late!

Hey!

Some of you may have heard about the Ulta BOGO butter LONDON sale that happened last Tuesday. It was a fast and furious sale as I had anticipated purchasing online but literally all the colors I wanted were sold out within minutes. I guess they weren't expecting the madness!

This brings me to how I got my hands.. or nails.. on these two butter LONDON pretties. As you may know from previous posts, the closest Ulta to me is about an hour away, but my boyfriend works only about 3 minutes from one- lucky! So after my online mishap, he was very generous to stop by Ulta on his way home from work and pick these up for me! Surprisingly they weren't sold out where he lives, lucky me!

So he came to visit me this weekend with these two polishes in tow.. take a look at Wallis and Lady Muck

Ahhh can't wait to try these. I would also like to take a moment and recognize what a great guy I have, most men would steer clear from an Ulta (probably) but he is such a champ, and he certainly knows how to make me happy, with nail polish! :D

Did anyone participate in the butter LONDON bogo sale at Ulta last Tuesday? If so, what did you pick up?

OPI - I Brake for Manicures

Hi!

Today's post is about one of the new polishes from the OPI Fall 2011 Touring America collection. This one is called I Brake for Manicures. The name is cute, and in standard quirky OPI fashion, but the color, is to die for- look at this dark vampy yet smoky polish!

*Swoons* This is so unique, seriously, I don't have anything like it. Formula was amazing and opaque in two coats, and dry time was great too. I wore this polish for three days (which is long for me) because I loved it so much! And after three days it only had minimal tip wear, I hated to take it off!

This is the only polish I picked up from OPI's new collection, the rest just didn't wow me like collections in the past have. Are you going to pick up this or any other polishes from the Touring America collection? If so, which ones?

ALSO! I want to say a huge thank you to 'Fingers' and 'I'm feeling nail-venturous' for always reading and commenting on my blog, seriously- you two are fantastic- thank you!

Ulta - Into Astrono-Me?

Hey there!!

Today's post will be brief, I have lots of work to catch up on! But I wanted to show you my NOTD which is Into Astrono-Me? from Ulta. I believe this is one of the new polishes for Fall 2011 because I  have never seen it before, but it is a dark teal leaning blue with bright blue shimmer. Very pretty and unique to anything I own, and also the formula is awesome! Check it out-

I like! What do you think?

Revlon - Starry Pink

Hi there!!

Just look at this polish. It is a light pink with different sized silver hex glitter suspended in it, and it is ABSOLUTELY jaw dropping.

*picks jaw up* Seriously Revlon.. you are on the ball lately. This is another knockout polish from Revlon called Starry Pink. I am absolutely loving this, it is work appropriate without being boring, and it is SO FUN to look at!!!

Starry Pink can be found at Target and as far as I know it is part of the core Revlon line! Have you purchased this or any of the other new glitters up yet? What do you think about them?

Barielle - Soul-er Powered

Hi there!

Today I am posting a polish that my BF picked out.. it's a yellow. I never go for yellows because I feel like my skin tone just can't handle them, but I think this one isn't TOO horrible, and hey, it made the BF happy, so  I was happy. Here is Barielle - Soul-er Powered from the Spring 2011 Karma Kollection..

It's not THAAAAT bad, right? I mean hey, I'm loving those glass flecks, the yellow is a bit much for my taste, but every girl needs a good yellow polish in her collection, and I have my one!

Shown above is two really nice coats of Soul-er Powered, which surprised me because yellows are typically a streaky mess, not this one! Application was a bit thick, but it evened out nicely! What do you think? Are yellows your thing?

Thanks for stopping!

Revlon - Berry Delicious

Hey there!

Today I am showing you a polish that my mom bought me last summer, that I had originally kind of tossed aside saying that it wasn't really my color, and I hardly gave it a second look. Well, now that I am trying to go through my untrieds or 'once tried' polishes and seeing what I want to keep or donate to the local women's center, I came across this little pretty and gave her another go, see what you think! Here is Revlon - Berry Delicious.

I am so loving this. I am so glad that I gave it another try because it is a stunner! And it kind of reminds me of Chanel Morning Rose.. Google it!

Shown above is three coats of Berry Delicious, and drying time was phenom! I think this is a really nice shade that would get overlooked in the store, but by giving it a closer inspection, you can see it's true beauty. Did you see those tiny glass flecks?! GORG!

China Glaze - Sunset Sail

Hi there!

I am making a super quick post today! Just enough time to show you my NOTD, which is China Glaze - Sunset Sail from the Spring 2011 Anchors Away collection, which I have to say.. is probably one of my all time favorite collections from China Glaze. There were so many polishes that just worked in that collection, and not one that I didn't like! Well anyway- here is Sunset Sail..

Flash

Sunlight

This is a pretty peach color with tiny silver sparkles. If you enlarge the pictures you might be able to see it a little better. I don't use a lightbox- shame on me! So I gave you two pictures to give you a general idea of the actual color.

I really like Sunset Sail- I think that this shade could be hard to pull off without the silver sparkles, but that gives it that little something extra and it is a great neutral that is definitely work appropriate!

Thanks for stopping by! BY THE WAY- is anyone taking part in the Ulta BOGO Butter London sale today? This promo is available in stores and online, limit 2 per customer, so be sure to take advantage of this great deal!

China Glaze - Ingrid

Hey there!

Today I am showing you another polish from China Glaze Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection, it is totally getting me in the mood for Fall! This polish is Ingrid, a beautiful medium chocolatey brown with gold shimmer running through it. SO pretty!

I am always hesitant to purchase brown polishes because I am so fair skinned I never know how they are going to work, but I think this is just fabulous, and I am loving the shimmer!

Shown above is two nice coats of Ingrid and a top coat of SV. Speaking of top coats, I really need to break free from Seche Vite. My nail polish always peels on the second day when I wear this, how annoying! I need to try something new, that will make my mani's last longer - suggestions? I'm thinking maybe Essie - Good to Go?

Thanks for your help!

Jesse's Girl - Mermaid's Lagoon

Hi there!

Do I have something fun to show you today or what! This polish is from the Jesse's Girl JulieG collection that just hit stores! This is Mermaid's Lagoon, and when I first saw swatches of this collection I knew I had to have this. I was so amped for the copper shimmer running through the perfect turquoise base, a match made in polish heaven! Well... it took a few tries, which I will explain- but first look at this pretty polish!

Woah! Stunner! Application was pretty easy, I did two coats with a top coat of SV, but of course, when I added the top coat there was no shimmer to be found and it actually turned the base a weird shade of green? So it was time to start over, and I decided to do a 'Bonder' sandwich, which ended up working out wonderfully!

Bonder Sandwich Instructions;
1 Coat of Orly Bonder basecoat
1 Coat Polish
1 Coat Orly Bonder
1 Coat Polish

NO topcoat. That is what saves the pretty finish! Yes this method took longer than average, but the finish is so worth it!

Have any of you ever done a 'Bonder' sandwich? Also- are you planning on picking up any polishes from the newly released JulieG collection exclusively at Rite Aid?

China Glaze - Midnight Mission

Hi everyone!

Today I am ready for fall! Well.. for now, I will take that back when the weather starts getting colder and I have to wear multiple layers to stay warm! But anyway I have been going through my untrieds looking for dark colors to get me ready for fall, and stumbled upon this beauty that I received in a swap a few weeks ago, this is China Glaze Midnight Mission from last fall's Vintage Vixen collection!

LOVELY! This was on my wish list for so long, and I always ended up passing it up for something else, but it's finally mine, and it is not going anywhere, that is for sure! Just look at all that shimmer. I am such a sucker for finishes like this. They pull me in every time.

What you see above is two effortless coats of MM, I seriously didn't want to take this one off, it was perfect!

So what do you think? Are you starting to pull out Fall colors too?

Thanks so much for reading!

Ulta - Lav-ish

Hey readers!

Today I am going to show you a polish that I picked up a few weeks ago at Ulta, this is an Ulta brand polish called Lav-ish. When I saw this in the store I had to have it. It is a dust mauve with gold shimmer running through it which gives the polish so much more depth and makes it more interesting than your typical mauve. Take a look at Lav-ish:

Shown above is three coats of Lav-ish. The formula was a little on the thick side, but it ended up looking really nice and I like it a lot! This polish is very unique and something that I wasn't really expecting from a brand like Ulta, but they surprised me, and I love  it!

What do you think about Lav-ish? What is your favorite Ulta nail polish?

Essence - Blue Ray

Hi!

As promised, today I am showing you Essence Blue Ray from the @holografics.com collection (which isn't holographic, but whatever!) Blue Ray is an incredible duochrome though.. it flashes from blue to purple and in some lighting I see green. I tried to get some decent pictures, but the weather here in Central PA has been less than cooperative lately, but I did the best I could - here is Blue Ray!

Natural Light
 Natural Light
Flash

Mmmhm, so pretty! I am such a fangirl for polishes like this that are always changing under different lighting. Shown above is three coats of Blue Ray, I probably could have done two, but I didn't wait long enough between the first two coats and that resulted in some dragging, but dry time was awesome so it wasn't really an issue to add another coat.

Overall, holographic or not, this polish is a keeper, and I am so glad that I picked it up! So if you haven't done so already, run- don't walk, to your nearest Ulta and snatch up this beauty, because I'm sure it won't last  long!

What do you think about Blue Ray? Are you loving it as much as I am?

Ulta & Rite Aid Haul :D

Hey there!

Today I am going to show you my most recent haul from Ulta and Rite Aid! Check it out :)

L-R
Jesse's Girl - Mermaid's Lagoon (JulieG Collection at Rite Aid)
Revlon - Royal Cloak
OPI - Swimsuit.. Nailed It
Ulta - Taupe on a Rope
Essence - @Holografics.com Blue Ray

So the only one I got a Rite Aid was the Jesse's Girl one, WHICH here is a link for a coupon for $2 off any Jesse's Girl item, so I got Mermaid's Lagoon for $1.99 and it usually retails for $3.99! Mermaids Lagoon is a pretty turquoise with golden shimmer.. GORG!

Next up is my haul from Ulta.. I had read about Revlon Royal cloak on sooo many blogs, and I am so happy I found it! It's a really pretty medium purple with silver flakies, very unique! Swimsuit..Nailed It! Is a vibrant blue foil, I'm so excited to try it! Taupe on a Rope is a neutral with gold shimmer running through it, also unique!

Finally we have Essence @holografics.com Blue Ray. I am a huge sucker for LE Essence polishes; mainly because they are so hard to find after they come out, especially in the US. The display at Ulta was pretty picked over, this was the last bottle of Blue Ray and there were two bottles of Gagalectric, which looked very sheer, and it reminded me of preteens, so I decided against it. I'm gonna rant for a second, as you can see- this bottle is NOT in the slightest holographic, it is duochrome, but not holo.. but regardless it is super gorgeous and I will be showing swatches tomorrow!

I intended for this to be a quick post.. but it turned out to be pretty lengthy, so if you're still with me- thanks for reading!

Barielle - Welcome OHM

Hi there!

I have ANOTHER Barielle to show you today, I apologize for this! But since I just recently purchased their entire Spring collection (a little late..) I want to show you all of them before it's time to start wearing all of those gorgeous fall shades!

This is Barielle - Welcome OHM from the Spring 2011 Karma Kollection. Overall I love the colors in this collection, but the names are a little kooky in my opinion, but here is Welcome OHM

Shown above is two coats of WO. This is a pretty shade of pink/purple. When I first pulled this out it reminded me of Zoya Keiko, but Keiko is much darker. The formula on this was really nice, and drying time was fast. It's not the most exciting color of all time, but I still think it is really nice and pretty for Spring / Summer :)

What do you think about Welcome OHM? Love it? Leave it?

Sally Hansen - Midnight Sky

Hi there readers!

Today's post is about a polish that I picked up on clearance at Target a few weeks ago. This is Sally Hansen -Midnight Sky. I saw several swatches of this polish on other blogs and though I have about a dozen gunmetal shimmery grays, I always need another!

Midnight Sky is so gorgeous, it reminds me of lead in a pencil, except sparkly. It's gorgeous, take a look;

 Sunlight

Flash

Shown above is two nice and easy coats of Midnight Sky. I am such a fan of this, especially because I got it for less than $2, what a deal! I think that colors like this tend to look great on everyone, and they're easy to pull off no matter your skin tone.

Midnight Sky is part of the SH Hard as Nails Extreme Wear Fall 2011 line, and you can probably still find this at  your local Target on clearance - hopefully!

What do you think about Midnight Sky? Will you be picking this up?

Thanks for stopping by!

Orly - Nite Owl

Hey there everyone!

Today's post is about Orly - Fowl play from the Fall 2011 Birds of a Feather Collection. In my opinion, Orly totally hit it out of the park, not only with this polish, but with the entire collection, it's just gorgeous, and unique! I have this and Fowl Play from the collection but I plan on picking up at least two more.

Anyway- good job Orly! here is Nite Owl, a gorgeous shimmer packed neutral. Check her out!

Shown above is two effortless coats. This color is gorgeous, just look at that shimmer. Colors like this are what make my love for neutrals so great. This is so stunning and it's unlike anything else I own, AND it's work appropriate! WOO HOO!

Thats all for today! Did you pick up Nite Owl or any other colors from the Birds of a Feather Collection yet? If so, which ones?

 *Sunlight

*Flash

*picks up jaw from floor* Enlarge the pictures if you want, because then you can really see the stunning silver glass flecks that invade this polish and turn it from drab green to one totally unique and pretty polish!

Barielle - Blackened Bleu

Hey all!

Today's post is about Barielle - Blackened Bleu. This is from the All Lacquered Up collection from a few years ago (I am guessing.. 2009?) Anyway, this is a pretty 'blackened blue' not to totally copy the name, but that's what it is people! The sparkle is understated and at times this polish leans more black than blue, but I love it. This polish reminds me of a cold winter night. So icy!

Above is three thin coats of Blackened Bleu, the first coat was really watery, but overall it turned out really nicely. I pulled this one out from my stash when I couldn't think of any other color to wear (I only have about 200 to choose from.. not too many compared to some of you!!) but I am so glad I did, because this polish deserves some love every now and then!

So do you like Blackened Bleu? Have any others from the 'All Lacquered Up' collection?

Borghese - Incantanto Purple

Hi readers!

Today I am showing you Borghese - Incantanto Purple from the Rapido Fast Dry Collection that was released (I think) this Spring or Summer. I picked up this polish a few weeks ago on clearance from Ulta for $3.99, and I don't have too many Borghese polishes, so I figured why not. And this brings us to Incantanto Purple...

The pictures above are two coats, this was a more red leaning lavender. I liked the color in the bottle in the store. But when I got home it didn't really stand out among my large collection of lavender. It's just kind of middle of the road.  A nice shade of lavender, but nothing groundbreaking that is for sure.

That's all for today! What do you think about Incantanto Purple?

Barielle - Do Unto Others

Hi!

Today I am showing you one of the polishes I recently purchased from Barielle. This one is from the Spring 2011 Karma Kollection and it is Do Unto Others;  a gorgeous bright almost jelly teal.

The picture below is two flawless coats of Do Unto Others, and it is taken in natural sunlight.

I am totally LOVING this color, it is perfect for the end of summer- I am trying to wear all my brights before it's time to wear my new Fall shades! And this was perfect for Labor Day weekend! I just love the creamyness of it. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!

RBL Piu Mosso and Pizzicato!

Hi there!

Today's post is about my most recent nail mail from Rescue Beauty Lounge. I am so obsessed with these two polishes, Piu Mosso and Pizzicato from the Pre-Fall Firebirds collection; they are unique to anything in my stash, and the formula on them is impeccable. Ji Baek has truly outdone herself yet again!

I ordered these two beauties during the VIP presale back in July, and I'm so glad that I did, becuase I feel like this collection is going to be a repeat of the Real Housewives of the Tudor Dynasty collection (sold out immediately!)

Without further ado, allow me to introduce you to Piu Mosso and Pizzicato!

Simply stunning. What you see above is two coats for Piu Mosso and three coats for Pizzicato, but drying time was excellent and the formula was so easy to work with- typical RBL!

I apologize for not doing full swatches, but I wanted to post these ASAP and didn't have time for full swatches/mani!

What are your thoughts on these two polishes? Did you participate in the pre-sale, and if not, will you be ordering when they are available to the public sometime this week?

Thanks for reading peeps!!

*Hidden Treasure* ooooh..

Hi there!

Okay so before I start, I am just going to say that I'm sure you have all seen this polish about a thousand times, but IT'S JUST SO GOOD! And it deserves to be shown a thousand times :) This polish has a cute story to it, and how it wound up in my possession- I was just getting into the nail polish scene as my boyfriend and I were getting together, and this was at the peak of the hunt for Hidden Treasure. I read about this polish on one of my favorite blogs, and I had to have it.

After searching for weeks and weeks and being unsuccessful, my boyfriend tracked this down (he still wont tell me where he found it!) and surprised me with it. So here is the beautiful Hidden Treasure-

This polish is so perfect, and definitely holds a special place in my heart. Do any of you have polishes that are super special to you like me and Hidden Treasure?

By the way.. HAPPY LABOR DAY! Enjoy your day!

Sally Hansen CSM - Purple Pulse

Hey all!
Today I am showing you a polish that I got last year sometime, when my nails were much shorter, and tried this once and never really gave it a second chance. Well, I am currently going through my stash to weed out polishes that I will never wear, and thought I'd give this baby another shot. Here is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Purple Pulse.

Shown above is three coats of Purple Pulse, the first coat was pretty watery and streaky, but it built up really nicely, what do you think?

Purple Pulse is part of the CSM core line, and can be found at drug stores and other beauty supply stores!

Color Club - Snakeskin

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday, TGIF! I am showing you Color Club- Snakeskin today. This is a polish that has been sitting in my 'untrieds' for SO long. I always just  looked at it and put it back down looking for something better. Well, the time finally came for me to give this baby a try. I can't say I hate it. But it isn't one of my favorite polishes of all time, and frankly I think it is going to go in my swap bin pretty soon so it can find a better home!

This wasn't terribly streaky, but if you aren't careful when applying it could probably be a nightmare. The color is interesting, it's like a silvery charcoal green with a hint of gold, but the finish is just 'meh' and doesn't really do anything for me.

What do you think about Snakeskin?

Thanks for readinggg!

COULD IT BE?!!

HIYA!

*Gasp* Could it possibly be? An affordable 'Bad Romance' dupe? I will let you be the judge :)

%$#&%(!@(* Yeah.. I don't even care if it's the exact same as 'Bad Romance' by Deborah Lippmann, this polish is INSANE in the membrane.

This beauty is Revlon - Facets of Fuchsia and what you are seeing is two coats of FoF over Sinful Colors - Black on Black for a perfect combination of awesome.

Facets of Fuchsia is a brand new polish from Revlon, and can be found at Target for $4-7 depending on where you purchase it. So far I have only seen this at Target (I have been to two!) and there are two other glitters along with this one. Starry Pink and Blue Mosaic which are equally as gorgeous.

What does everyone think about this? I am so so so excited about this, because the die hard Lady Gaga fan that I am, I have always wanted Bad Romance, but could never cough up the $16 for it.. and I only paid $3.36 for this spectacular substitute =]

Thanks for checking out my post!
