L'Oreal - Mystery

Hi there!

Today I am showing you a polish that I got a few weeks ago at Ulta. This is an LE L'Oreal polish called Mystery. I don't remember exactly what display it was on.. but I do know that it is LE for Fall. Anyway, this one caught my eye, I am such a fan of dark 'mysterious' colors like this. It's dark enough that I love it, but it doesn't look black in low light which thrilled me!

There is one downside to this very pretty polish though- you will see in the second picture!

Okay I am sure there are MUCH worse brushes out there.. but wtf. This has a huge chunk missing out of the middle which made application a pain in the toosh. But hey, I guess that's the price I have to pay for this mani!

What do you think about Mystery? Were any of you able to pick this up? If so.. did you have a terribly wonky brush like I did?

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm sorry I don't have a more festive polish to show you.. I don't really get into Halloween themed nail polish, mainly because orange and I do not get along.. but I hope everyone has a great Halloween :)

Avon - Olive Green

Hey there!

Today's post is about a color that I absolutely loveeee! This polish is pure perfection in every sense of the word. From the gorgeous color to the one-coater formula.. here is the wonderful Avon- Olive Green.

Yes ladies and gents, what you see above is one coat of creamy awesomeness. This is one of the few Avon polishes that I own. But the ones I have tried, I've been impressed by. The only downside is wear.. this polish only lasted about a day an a half before I got a chip in my pointer finger. But that's just an excuse for a new mani :)

What do you think about Olive Green by Avon? Do you  own any Avon polishes? If so which ones?

Thanks for reading, loves!

China Glaze - Skyscraper

Hey peeps!

Today's post is about a new China Glaze. This is from the Fall 2011 Metro collection, and this beauty is Skyscraper. This is a medium blue glitter that SCREAMS 'look at me!' It is very different, and the formula is nice too! What you see below is three easy coats of Skyscraper;

Nice! I am glad that I got this one, it makes me smile when I look at my nails, its sooooo icy! But removal is such a pain. This pretty color makes it worth it though :D

Did any of you pick up Skyscraper or any other China Glazes from the new Fall collection?

Finger Paints - Purple Pinstripe

Hey there!

Today's post is about a polish that I recently received in a swap. This is Finger Paints - Purple Pinstripe. This is my very first Finger Paints polish, and needless to say I am very impressed!! I was drawn to Purple Pinstripe because it is a color that is work appropriate, girly, and very in season, so check out the pretty Purple Pinstripe;

I really really like this one, and so does my BF! It is a unique color in my collection- but I wanted to do a comparison because it reminded me of a Barielle that I got awhile ago.. so here is my little comparison;

Pinky - Pointer; FP  Purple Pinstripe, Barielle Welcome Ohm, FP Purple Pinstripe, Barielle Get Mauve-ing

As you can see, Welcome Ohm is totally not even close, but I threw it in for kicks. The other two aren't really close either, Purple Pinstripe is clearly much darker than Get Mauve-ing, but they are in the same 'murky plum' color family.

Purple Pinstripe was a total win for me! The formula was fantastic, smooth and opaque in two simple coats. And I love the color! :) What do you all think?

RBL - Scrangie

Hi there!

Today I am showing you a polish that I got almost a year ago, which started my RBL love affair. This is Scrangie. She is one unique flower, and so hard to capture of course! But I tried and I did my best..

This is a great purple that flashes green and blue. So unexpected! Formula was good, it took three coats to become opaque and dry time was great too! This one is actually coming back soon- it was sold out for quite some time, and it will be released to the public at the end of November- and from what I have heard, this will be the last time that it comes back, so you might want to get a bottle while you can!!

Thanks for reading girlies :)

L'Oreal - Owl's Night

Hey girls and guys-

Insanely quick post tonight to show you my most coveted find from a few weeks ago. This is L'Oreal Owl's Night from the Project Runway Fall 2011 collection. This is the polish that is on everyone's wishlist, but can be very hard to find (only 2 per display!) and I found it :) Check it out-

It's so pretty and sparkly! Shown above is two flawless coats. And wear was excellent, I went three days with no chips and minimal tip wear. Woo!!

Were you able to find Owl's Night? If so, what do you think about it?

An Oldie but Goodie.. OPI - LPAD

Hey folks!

Today's post is about a polish that was released in (I think) 2005, but it's a classic, stand-by, vampy, sexy shade. This is OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark. I actually did a bit of research on Lincoln Park in Chicago, and was constantly reminded by this nail polish!

Fall is setting in here in Central PA, so I picked this polish to get me in the mood for the cold weather that is coming soon!

I have such a thing for dark colors, and I think they like me too ;)

So anyway- I have just started reading Rescue Your Nails by Ji Baek (founder of Rescue Beauty Lounge, and utter genius!) and I am getting so many good tips! There is also a section on nail shape, and tried out more of a square shape when I cut my nails down today.. what do you think? I am not brave enough to do super square tips, but I was getting bored of my oval shape. So I will try this shape for awhile, we'll see!

So what is your favorite go-to vampy shade?

butter LONDON - Wallis

Hello Readers!

Today I am going to show you butter LONDON - Wallis. This is a color that I would typically never wear, but when I saw swatches of this, I knew it had to be mine. I am so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone on this one and went for it, because I loveee it! Take a look at Wallis-

Loooooook at that glow! I love it. The formula was perfection as well, so this is all around amazeballs! What do you think?

Small Haul :)

Hey there!

Today I just wanted to share with you my small haul (that rhymes!) that I got from Ulta last weekend while visiting my boyfriend in NY.

First of all, let me just tell you how excited I am that I FINALLY found L'Oreal Owl's Night. I was about ready to give up on the search for her, when there was one lonely bottle in the display at Ulta, it was my lucky day :)
Then I got L'Oreal - Mystery (because L'Oreal cosmetics were BOGO50 so of course I had to find something else!) This is somewhat similar to Zoya Cynthia, but after just swatching them on paper, I wouldn't call them dupes. I will do a comparison of them soon!
Last but not least, an OPI classic - Lincoln Park After Dark. This has been on my wishlist for a long time, so I finally picked it up!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Revlon - Royal Cloak

Hello!

Today's post is about one of the most GORGEOUS purples I have seen in a long long time. This baby is Revlon - Royal Cloak, it is a rich medium purple with silver flakies that make this polish stand out among the many purples in my stash. Just look at it..

Wahhh! It's *sooo* pretty! This was sitting in my untrieds for so long, and I am kicking myself because it is just gorgeous and deserves lots of love!

Can I just say that I am super impressed by Revlon lately? First those gorgeous glitters - Starry Pink, Facets of Fuchsia (the Lippmann Dupe) and now this too. Seriously Revlon, you are rocking it, keep making these gorgeous colors!!

What do you think about Royal Cloak? I found mine at Ulta a few weeks ago, so even this is an LE shade, it should be pretty accessible!

RBL - Piu Mosso

Hello there!

Today's post is about another beautiful polish from Rescue Beauty Lounge, this is Piu Mosso from the Pre Fall 2011 Firebirds collection. I know I showed you one-nail swatches when I got this and Pizzicato in the mail, so I figured I would show full swatches when I wore them!

I don't even know what to say about Piu Mosso besides it is one of my top 5 favorite nail polishes of all time, it is truly unique and stunning and this is just one example as to why RBL has my heart. Take it away Piu Mosso!

Oh mah gawd. That fiery orange shimmer in the midst of a luxurious deep navy.. breathtaking!

Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes retail for $18/each and can be purchased online at www.rescuebeauty.com if you like Piu Mosso or any of the Firebirds, I suggest picking them up, don't wait! Because when they sell out, they may be gone forever (or for a really long time until voted back by fans!)

Nail Fail!

I now present to you, ladies and gentleman, a *nail fail*

What you see here is Borghese - Mediterraneo Sea. First of all, when I purchased this at Ulta (in the clearance bin) I had no idea that this was a matte glitter. I'm sorry for not taking any matte pics, I was in a hurry, but this polish is a hot mess. The top coat was eaten alive by the matte texture of M. Sea. And the finish is insanely gritty; gross.

There is just so much going on in this polish, you probably cant tell from my picture but there are pink, silver and purple glitter in this, which is pretty in the bottle, but on the nail it just reads 'sloppy' to me. I'll let you decide- here is Mediterraneo Sea

Ickkkkk. Not my cup of tea. This is going up on Make Up Alley for swap as I type this!

Diamond Cosmetics - Never so Evergreen

Oh hello!

Today's post is about Diamond Cosmetics - Never So Evergreen. This polish is said to be really close to Rescue Beauty Lounge - Anne which I have been lemming for quite a long time, and which also conveniently goes on pre-order today. So those of you with Anne, please help me make a decision after you see these swatches!

Here is the beautiful Never so Evergreen.

What a stunner! This is packed full of shimmer and the formula was perfection in two coats. So the question is... do I *neeeeeeed* Anne if I have this beauty? Do you think they are similar enough to own both? Let's face it.. I am probably still going to order Anne. And when I get her, I'll do a lovely comparison of both, how about that?!

Diamond Cosmetics retail for $2.50 and can be purchased here!
If you decide to purchase Never So Evergreen, you'll definitely want to pick up Chainmail Charm too (a charcoal holo which I will swatch and review for you soon!)

RBL - Pizzicato

Hello!

Today's post is going to be brief, I just want to share what has been on my nails for three days.. yes, THREE, I love it that much! This is Rescue Beauty Lounge - Pizzicato from the Pre Fall 2011 Firebirds collection. Mmm it's a pretty lilac with silver shimmer and glass flecks possible? Either way- this baby is gorgeous! Check it out..

Yes yes and more yes. I am head over heels for this color, and the formula, as always with RBLS was on-spot and opaque in three easy coats. After three days this had no tip wear what so ever, which is rare for me because I can be hard on my nails.

Bottom line: I'm in love. Ji Baek is a genius!

Why I haven't been blogging (I'm sorry!)

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to take a minute and tell you why I haven't been posting for the past few days, I have exciting news! And then not so exciting news. First things first, I got a new car!

Soooo yes, driving around has been eating up my free time haha. It's a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. I am so obsessed with it, it's my first new car, and I am so proud of myself, I had to share!! :)

Second, my sister was home from Maryland for the weekend, which included intese celebrations and heavy drinking- I spent my ENTIRE day yesterday recovering and unable to move. It was worth it though :D

And lastly, I found out this morning that my Dad lost his job. It's so scary.. usually your parents are the ones who are the 'rock' and who have their shit together, and I just feel horrible. So I doubt I see myself having the energy to post in the next few days. But I wanted to let you all know that I love you guys and I'll be back soon!

RBL - Fortissimo

Hi there!

Today's post is about Rescue Beauty Lounge - Fortissimo. When the Firebirds collection first came out, this one didn't really excite me too much. However after viewing swatch after swatch, it came to my attention that this was really the hidden gem of the collection. Is it green? Is it brown? WHAT IS IT? Beautiful. That's what it is!

Sunlight with Flash

Artificial Light with Flash
Sunlight, no Flash

SO pretty and vampy! The formula on this beauty was typical RBL fashion, and perfect in two easy and super glossy coats! I thought hard about whether or not to add a top coat, and I did, simply because I want to wear this baby for awhile, but if it was a one day mani, no top coat would be needed!

As you can see from pictures, Fortissimo is a chameleon, in that is is constantly changing under different lights. What do you think about this polish? Do you think it's worth the $18 price tag?

Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polishes can be purchased here!

Orly - Fowl Play *reswatch*

Hi everyone!

Today I am posting a reswatch of Orly - Fowl Play. I typically like to always feature something I have never shown before on my blog, but the last time I showed Fowl Play, my nails were little shorties and it was layered on top of that awful Shellac manicure. So here is Fowl Play, all alone, and boy is she gorg!

\

I love this so much! It was the star of the Birds of a Feather collection in my opinion. There is just so much sparkle, shimmer, and flakies, what's not to love?! This is a complete party on your nails if you will, and it is PERFECTO for fall!!

Orly polishes retail from $6-7 depending on where you purchase, and they an be found online as well as at Ulta, Sally Beauty, and other beauty supply stores.

Thanks for stopping by!

OPI - Swimsuit.. Nailed It!

Hey there!

Today's post is about a recently released OPI from the Miss America collection called, Swimsuit..Nailed It! Ohhh OPI and their names, sometimes they're a bit too much for me, but the color on this one is out of this world, seriously. A royal blue foil, with endless sparkle, it's so perfect. Check it out!

This is definitely an attention grabbing nail polish! I got so many compliments while I was wearing it. No matter what lighting I was under, this polish seriously never stopped sparkling. It's gorgeous! And unlike anything I own.

So it sounds like this is a homerun from OPI right? Well.. not so fast. This polish stained like a mother. I had to use somewhere around 15 cotton pads to get the blue off of my nails and skin. I hate when that happens with a color I love so much, because the extra work means I probably won't reach for it as much as I would if it were easier to remove.

All in all, besides the removal, Swimsuit..Nailed It! Is amazing, and it was well worth the staining issues!

OPI polishes retails for $8.50 and can be found at Ulta, Sally Beauty, JCPenny, TransDesign, professional salons and other beauty supply stores.

China Glaze - Trendsetter

Hey peeps!

Holy moly I am so excited about today's post- because it is so not me, but I love it! This is China Glase Trendsetter from their latest Fall 2011 collection. This is the polish that I was most excited about from this collection, and it feels like it took FOREVER for me to find it.. I feel like everyone else got this before me (tell me I'm wrong!) but regardless, I finally have my hands on this, and I'm so excited that I do, it was well worth the wait!

Woah. Look at those glass flecks. Seriously. Amazing. I can't stop staring at my nails! I love this version of green/chartreuse, whatever it is, it works, and it's so new! I can't think of a dupe for this. I'm loving it!

What does everyone think? Love the look or is it too outrageous for you? Plans to pick this or any of the other polishes up from the Fall 2011 ChG collection??

China Glaze polishes can be found at Ulta, Sally Beauty and other beauty supply stores as well as online at www.8ty8beauty.com  and www.head2toebeauty.com from $3-7 depending where you purchase!

butter LONDON - Lady Muck

Hey there!

So today's post is about butter LONDON Lady Muck. I seriously can not get enough light blue polishes. I own all of them, and no matter HOW close they are in color, I still need more. The shimmer in Lady Muck is the reason why it went on my *need* list, and plus I got it for 50% off, so you really can't beat it!

Here is the lovely Lady Muck, and please excuse the cuticles, it was a rough day!

This blue is so perfect and 'Cinderella-y' and in all honesty, I think this will be my 'something blue' when I get married.. someday! That is how much I love it. The formula was great on this too, an all around 'win' for me!

What do you think about Lady Muck? Have any butter LONDON polishes? Wallis is still sitting in my untrieds starting at me.. so I think she'll be next haha.

Zoya - Nimue and.. it's OCTOBER?!

Hi there!

First.. I  can't believe it is October already, for real! Time flies.Today, on this first day of October, I am showing you another polish from the Zoya Fall 2011 Smoke & Mirrors Collection. This is Nimue, a medium lilac frosty purple that was streak free, yes- frost and streak free in the same sentence, unheard of!

As you can see it is a pretty polish, I don't really think it is *me* per say.. I'm not a frosty girl, but it is still nice. The formula was great and it was opaque in two coats.

I have two others from this collection I have yet to try- Cynthia and Marina, so you will be seeing those sometime soon too!
