OPI - Dating a Royal

Hellooo!

Here is OPI - Dating a Royal. Be prepared to drool because this baby is b-e-a-utiful!

%$&$$*!!!  Seriously. I have wanted this polish for the longest time, I don't know why I didn't just order it on Amazon or evilbay or something, because this is amazing. Look at that blue, it is vibrant, yet dusty. AND.. this polish is a jelly. We all know how I feel about VNL, but this covered perfectly in 3 coats.

Not only do I love everything about the formula and color of this polish, but I love the name! Dating a Royal. It's so fitting.

Thoughts on Dating a Royal? Love it/ Leave it?

Pixel - Oh Golly Gee!

Hey there!

Today's post is about a polish that my boyfriend picked out for me during our last Ulta trip together.. he told me I haaaad to have it, and begged me to wear it for the next time he was visiting. So that was this past weekend, and being the good girlfriend that I am, I put on Pixel - Oh Golly Gee! To make him happy :)

Luckilyyyy, I stumbled across this post before I tried OGG, and found out that it looks much better layered. So here is Oh Golly Gee

Ooooh! This is two coats of OGG over Wet n' Wild Black. I ended up really liking this, and more importantly, so did the boyfriend :)

Have you guys tried Pixel polishes yet? They can be found at Ulta for $2.49 (for this teeny tiny bottle) But with layering this, I didn't use much, oh the silver lining!

Thanks for stopping by. Thoughts on Oh Golly Gee?

Matte Black with Shiny Tips!

Hi!

Today I am showing you a recent nail design that I found on Pinterest (obsessed with that site BTW!) This is a matte black manicure with shiny french tips. Check out this easy mani!

I really really like this mani. It was fun and different and I never really do french tips or any nail art for that matter, but this was so simple, and I am surprised at how well it turned out! Only complaint is that the matte top coat I used wasn't the greatest.. it didn't turn completely matte like I would have liked, but you get the idea.

Another complaint; matte top coats don't seem to wear as well on me. I had a chip the next day. But oh well, I rocked this look as long as I could :P

What do you think about this mani? Have you ever tried this before?

RBL Anne vs. Diamond Cosmetics Never so Ever-green

Hey there!

Today I am going to post a comparison between RBL Anne and Diamond Cosmetics Never so Ever-green. When I was planning my RBL purchase, I read on a few blogs that Diamond Cosmetics NSE-G was quite similar, but I never found comparison swatches. So since Anne is finally mine, and I own Never so Ever-green, I thought I would help others out by doing the comparison. So check out these two polishes and how they compare to each other below-

Pointer to pinky; DC Never so Ever-green, RBL Anne, DC Never so Ever-green, RBL Anne

As you can see in the photo, these two polishes have the same general idea, they are both green, with gold microshimmer, but what NSE-G is missing is the pink microshimmer that sets Anne apart and makes her so beautiful. Anne is also darker and more of a rich green, where as NSE-G is a lighter and brighter shade of green.

These two polishes are beautiful in their own way, and I am glad that I own them both. I hope this post helped anyone who was on the fence about either of these polishes.. my advice to you would be, if you like Anne, even a little bit- get her, because once she is sold out, she'll be gone forever!

Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes retail for $18 and can be purchased here
Diamond Cosmetics polishes retail for $2.50 and can be purchased here

Thanks for reading! What do you think about this comparison? Too close to own both for you? Or would you own both like I do?

RBL - Anne

Hey there!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Today I am going to show you Rescue Beauty Lounge Anne. When the Tudor collection first came out last Fall, I wasn't really head over heels for any of the colors. But as my appreciation for nail polish and RBL grew, I decided that I NEEDED Anne. Well of course it was long sold out by the time I realized this, so when the BiB2 voting came around I was so happy Anne made the cut (and her sisters will be ready for pre-order in December, woo!)

So here is Anne in all her glory!

 Sunlight
 Sunlight
Flash

Sooo speechless. How pretty is Anne? Can you see the pink micro shimmer? I am so incredibly happy that Anne is finally mine, she was well worth the wait :)

I am thankful for...Nail Mail!!!

Hey there!

Happy Thanksgiving readers!! I hope you stuff yourselves full of yummy turkey and are in good company today! I thought I would post the nail mail that I received yesterday from Jen's blogsale. Everyone loves nail mail.. even if it comes in a small package and only contains two bottles.. I, for one, love ALL nail mail! :)

I got RBL Plie, which I have been wanting for awhile, and OPI Dating a Royal which I have been wanting as well! So her blog sale killed two of my major lemmings :) Woooo! So excited to try these out :D

Which one should I try first?

I HATE Luuux.

Hi there!

Be warned; this post is full of rage. Let it be known to the world that I hate Luuux. For those of you who don't know what 'Luuux' is. It is this site that allows people to make 'Luuux Dollars' for posting/commenting/I don't really know what else? But it is stupid. I have heard horror stories before from other bloggers about people on Luuux stelaing entire posts, photos, everything.

I never really put much thought into this happening to me, everytime I read something about this, I would just say to myself 'what bitches' and moved on with my life. I never knew how angry I would be if it happened to me, and guess what? It did! And now, I am super pissed.

Like first of all, can we just reflect that my pictures arent even that good?! They are not worthy of people stealing them and not crediting me.. so that's the first thing. And the second thing, I know it is my own fault for not having a watermark or something on my photos, which obviously I am going to have to figure out how to do from now on, because it's not right for people to steal my 'hard work' :D

Ugh, that ends my rant. I'm sorry if I offended anyone who is a member of Luuux. I just find it really unfair that this goes on ALL THE TIME, and the site (from what I have heard) has their head in the sand. ALSO, why 3 u's??? I can't even tell you how annoyed I got just by writing 'Luuux' in this post. GRR!!

Thanks for reading people, has this ever happened to you? What should I do about this to make sure that this doesn't happen again?

Lynnie

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!! I am thankful for all of my dear readers, you guys are the best :)

RBL Purple Haze vs. OPI Planks a Lot

Hey there!

Today I am doing a comparison between Rescue Beauty Lounge Purple Haze and OPI Planks a Lot. These are both medium lilacs, and they are both opaque in two coats. Check out my comparison between the two below!

Pointer to Pinky, Planks a Lot, Purple Haze, Planks a Lot, Purple Haze

As you can see, they both have the same general idea. But Purple Haze is darker than Planks a Lot. I am glad they are not dupes, because I absolutely LOVE Purple Haze, and I love Planks a Lot too, so I am happy that my money was well spent on both, because they are unique and beautiful in their own way!

There is another difference in these two polishes besides one being darker than the other- and that is the price. OPI retails for about half of that of RBL. (OPI is $8.50 or around there, RBL is $18) But price is never really an issue for me when I know I am getting a top notch product from Rescue Beauty Lounge.

That is my comparison.. what do you think? Do you own either of these?

RBL- Purple Haze

Hi peeps!

Today I am showing you another polish from my recent Rescue Beauty Lounge Haul :) This beauty is Purple Haze. PH was sold out for quite some time, when just last Spring it was voted to be brought back! I voted for Purple Haze at least 20 times haha I really wanted it to be mine, so I'm glad it is now! Check out this pretty medium cool toned purple..

My photo looks makes Purple Haze look much more blue than it actually is, but in reality PH doesn't pull too cool or too warm, I think this color would look great on all skin tones!

Formula was spot on, as I have come to expect and appreciate from RBL. I know that when I am in a pinch for time I can grab an RBL, slap on two coats and be good to go. From the perfect brush to super quick dry time, Rescue Beauty Lounge is without a doubt my favorite brand, and their customer service  is fantastic!

What do you think about Purple Haze? I will be doing a comparison post soon with this and another purple- so keep your eyes peeled for that :)

RBL Teal vs. OPI Ski Teal We Drop

Hi everyone!

Today I am going to do a comparison between RBL Teal and OPI Ski Teal We Drop. These are both dark 'teal' for lack of a better word, polishes, and some people have called them dupes in the past, but in my eyes they are both unique enough to own both (in my eyes) Check out my comparison below-

Pointer - Pinky; STWD, Teal, STWD, Teal

As you can see, Teal is darker than Ski Teal We Drop, and Teal is more green, while STWD is more blue. I also think that Teal is more complex. In the sun it becomes this vibrant dark green/blue, like the bottom of the ocean, and it never looks black.

Overall, in my last post I told you that I love love looove Teal, and though it is similar to another polish in my stash, I am still very happy that I own it- I can see myself grabbing for Teal a lot in the future :)

What do you think about this comparison? Do you own either of these polishes?

Thanks for stopping by!

RBL - Teal

Hola!

What you see here ladies and gentlemen is love at first brush stroke.. seriously. This is RBL Teal, and I have no other words besides 'wow'.

Ahhhh.. I have waited so long for this one, it certainly did not disappoint. It's so rich and luxurious. And amazing, and perfect, and lovely, and... TEAL. This is such a true teal, can you tell I'm obsessed? Well, I am!

What you see above is two wonderful coats of Teal.. dry time was excellent, and I don't even know what else to say other than, if you even remotely like the color teal, blue/green whatever you wanna call it- don't hesitate, pick this up, because it is Limited Edition. You don't want this to haunt you!

Love it? Hate it? Give me your thoughts :)

Thank you Nails Adored!

Hey there!

Like my new background and header? Isn't it precious? Well this is all thanks to Nails Adored. She swaps custom graphics for blogger headers and backgrounds for polish. If you are like me, and totally suck at basically all things creative, this is the girl to contact to make your blog look super cute- like mine! :)

She has multiple packages that you can 'purchase' in exchange for bottles of polishes (number of bottles depends on the package that you want).

All in all, this process was totally awesome, and Jamie is a very sweet girl! Don't hesitate to contact her, you won't regret it :)

Thanks again Jamie, I love it!

RBL Haul!!

Hi there!

Today I have fun things to show you.. my new polishes from RBL!

I waited all day to come home to this!!!

Packed safe and sound..

Ahhhh.. the tissue paper:)

Purple Haze, Mismas, Recherche

Decorous, Anne, Teal

Weeeeeee.. playing with my bottles hehe

I am so excited to try all of these. I don't even know where to begin, I think I may start with Teal, just because I have been wanting it ever since I didn't pick it up at the last 50% off sale... it has been haunting me, but I am so happy that these are finally in my collection :)

Did anyone else pre-order any of the BiB2 or Vintage BiB polishes? If so what did you pick up? I am already looking forward to the next pre order.. Decmber 9th, the day after my birthday! :D

Thanks for reading people, I will have lots of fun swatches soon!

Rimmel London - Grey Matter

Hi there!

Today's post is about a polish that I picked up forever ago, that I love dearly. This is Rimmel London - Grey Matter. This is one of the first 'weird' polishes I purchased. Well, I thought it was weird at the time, when I was first getting into the nail polish world, I thought 'grey nails... how interesting!' now grey is one of my favorite colors to wear.. well anyway back to this polish! Grey Matter is a medium gray that has a cool blue undertone. Formula on this was fantastic. Completely smooth and opaque in two coats. Check it out-

Seriously, I love this polish. It is one of my favorite grays of all time, probably because the formula is so flawless, I know that this is a color I can go to when I am in a pinch for time and it will look great. Also, the brush is wide and flat which makes application that much easier!

I got this at K Mart about a year ago, and I think I paid somewhere in the $2 range for this, thought it has the formula of a $20 polish!

Thanks for reading people! Thoughts on Rimmel London - Grey Matter? What's your favorite gray polish?

OPI - Red Hot Ayers Rock

Hey there!

Today's post is going to be pretty short. This is about OPI - Red Hot Ayers Rock, a polish that I recently picked up at Ulta during the 2/$10 discontinued OPI sale. This is a pretty bright red/coral creme. I typically write reds off, because red is not really my favorite color to sport on my nails, but this is really pretty. Check out Red Hot Ayers Rock..

See? It kind of reminds me of maraschino cherries, the kind of cherries in a jar. Which I think are disgusting haha. But I am really diggin this color, it will make me smile when I look at my nails because it's soooo bright!

Speaking of OPI, has anyone seen swatches for the Spring/Summer 2012 Holland collection? Talk about amazing. I seriously want almost all of them! If you haven't seen them yet Fashion Polish has great swatches of them!!

Zoya - Julieanne

Hi there!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I went down to Maryland to visit my sister- it was great fun! :) Tonight's post is about Zoya - Julieanne. I had originally wanted the polish when it first came out, but the newbie in me thought it was too close to Zoya Mimi which I already owned. But during one of the recent Zoya promos I decided to finally get Julieanne, and it did not disappoint!

It's so sparkly and pretty! Julieanne is a blackened purple glass fleck that just shines and shines. The formula was excellent on this too, what you see above is two flawless coats.

All in all I am soooo happy that I finally got my hands on this polish, I love purples, and in my eyes, this is perfect!

Does anyone else have Julieanne? Love it as much as I do?

Barielle - Buddha-ful

Hey there!

Today's post is about Barielle - Buddha-ful. When I first saw promo pics for this polish I was so excited, I HAD to have it, however, when I finally got it.. not so much. The base of Buddha-ful is sooo milky, so it's not just straight up flakies. I tried just wearing this on it's own, but I hate VNL and it required too many coats to cover it up, so when I chose a base I decided I would go with a neutral so the milkiness of Buddha-ful wouldn't effect the base color too much. Here is Sally Hansen CSM Iced Coffee with Barielle Buddha-ful.

I like the color of the flakies, I just wish the base was a bit more transparent. I am going to have to do a bit of experimenting with different base polishes to layer Buddha-ful on top of! Any suggestions?

Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength - Black Tie

Hey there!

Today's post is about Sally Hansen Diamond Strength - Black Tie. This is one of two polishes that I was able to pick up from this new display, and this is a duochrome.. oooh! AND I got the last one :)

So the thing with Black Tie is that it is really hard to capture. It flashes green/blue/gray and a bit of purple. Mostly green and gray though, in my opinion, I have a hard time describing polishes :P So anyway you will see in the first picture it looks very green, and in the second picture I didn't use flash so you can see more of the color shift if you look close enough! Here is Black Tie-

This polish is pretty, but not really that unique. I compared it to Borghese - Stellar Notte, and they look almost identical in the bottle. And the wear on this really wasn't that great. It claims to be 'No Chip Nail Color' but my manicure barely lasted two days before it chipped. Sooo I'm not all that impressed.

Overall it's a nice color, but it doesn't really float my boat. It's already on my swap list on MUA actually, haha so if anyone is interested- lemme know!

Also, I have been wearing my manicures for more than just a day lately. I have found that I like this because I really get to appreciate the color that I am wearing, and they all deserve a few days of love! Which is why I haven't been posting daily lately. Just to let you know :)

Thoughts on Black Tie? Did anyone pick this up from the new Diamond Strength display? I am still dying for those flakies!

OPI - William Tell Me About OPI

Hey there peeps!

Today's post is about OPI - William Tell Me About OPI from the Fall 2010 Swiss Collection. This was on the 2/$10 discontinued OPI sale display at Ulta this weekend, even though this shade wasn't advertised, it was on there, so that was kind of a surprise! Along with this there were two other shades from the Swiss Collection, Yodel Me on My Cell and Ski Teal We Drop. So be sure to check out your local Ulta- they might be having different colors on sale!

So anyway I had been eyeing this baby up for awhile, I just have a *thing* for vampy colors like this. When I first started growing my nails I was inspired by dark colors on celebritys nails and how I wished for my nails to grow overnight so I could wear them, and the day is finally here when I have long nails, so here I am and I can't get enough of colors like this! When I saw this was on sale it wasn't even a question- it was mine! So check out this pretty purpley/brownish/plum!

Oh OPI, how I love you. This was perfect in two coats, and dry time was excellent too. I just love this color, it is definitely lighter than Lincoln Park After Dark, and doesn't go black in low lights. I may have found my Holy Grail wine color nail polish! This also kind of reminds me of RBL Drifter, which I missed out on, so overall, I'm lovin it!

Have you guys picked up any discontinued polishes at Ulta yet for 2/$10 (which is quite a deal might I add!) I picked up this and Red Hot Ayers Rock, a bright pinky coral/red which I am excited to try!

Introducing.. The best hand lotion ever!

Hi there!

Today's post is not polish related, but it is still related to those pretty nails and hands of yours! I am showing you the best hand lotion I have found come to date. This stuff is amazing. I first found this great stuff at my boyfriend's parents house while we were visiting. It was last winter and my hands were so dry, I used a little bit of this and they were instantly moisturized and not greasy at all.

I wrote down the name of this and the search began.  Literally everywhere I went I looked for this with other Nivea products, and it was never to be found. This has been going on for almost a year now. Talk about ridiculous, well.. the search is FINALLLY over. Last night I went to Dollar General with my mom and there it was on the shelf, staring at me. To say I was excited is a severe understatement.. severe.

I bought three bottles, and I'm seriously considering going back for more. They are only $2.50, and for being the BEST lotion, I need back ups!

So that is my story about this lotion, when I use it my hands just feel so.. healthy. Its wonderful. Ladies, if you need a Holy Grail lotion, I suggest going to your local DG (I know.. of all places haha) and see if you can find this, you won't regret  it!

Princess Mani

Hey there!

Today I am showing you a mani that makes me feel so 'princess-y'. This is OPI - Play the Peonies and OPI Crown Me Already. I am absolutely loving the accent nail on this mani, it glams up the femininity of Play the Peonies and its just perfect. I can't stop staring at my nails!

Also, sorry in advance for the weird pics, I thought I had better ones, but they were all blurry.. and my finger got in front of the flash in this first pic.. *facepalm* I really really need to make a lightbox.. anyway, here is my princess mani :)

You know what else this kind of reminds me of? Revlon - Starry Pink *which I looooveeee* so maybe that's why I am so obsessed with it. Either way, I think this is a cute combo, what do you think?

I hope everyone has a FANTASTIC weekend! I am going on a wine tour in the Finger Lakes this weekend with my boyfriend and his family, so I will not be posting- but I will have some wine for all of you ;)

China Glaze - Midtown Magic

Oh hi!

Today I am showing you a polish that I have had for a few weeks now that I am just getting around to showing you today! This is China Glaze - Midtown Magic, and let me just tell you, this baby is gorgeous. The only thing that comes to mind when I look at this is "Fall" it is so perfect for this season, a dark burgundy base with gold and green and red sparkles.. what more could a girl ask for!?

Lalalalaa, gorg! Formula was spot on, two easy coats of sparkly goodness. An all around win for me on this one!

What do you think? Did you pick up Midtown Magic from the China Glaze Fall 2011 Metro Collection? Loving it like I am?

Thanks for stopping by!

Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength - Save the Date

Hey there readers!!

Today's post is about a recent Wal Mart find! After hearing about the new display of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polishes (containing FLAKIES) I made my way to my local Wal Mart to check it out! Unfortunately.. I was too late. (I live in a pretty small town... and didn't even think that anyone liked nail polish in my area) Not only was the Diamond Strength display mostly wiped out, but almost the entire Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kollection was gone too! Wtf people?! Save some for me!

Though I missed out on the flakies, I did come across this pretty polish, and that is Save the Date.

Can we talk about the brush for a second? Look at that stray bristle just chillin out there by itself. Luckily this was an easy fix, I just chopped it down to match the rest of the brush and that was that!

But regardless of the strange brush, how gorgeous is this color? I am a sucker for jewel tones because they compliment my cool skin tone wonderfully. But what do you think about Save the Date? I know it is not ENTIRELY original, but I don't have anything in my collection quite like it.. the closest I can think of is OPI - Diva of Geneva, and this is darker and more vibrant than that.

So have any of you spotted the new Diamond Strength display yet? Did you get your hands on any of the pretty flakies that I missed out on?

Thanks for reading!

Sally Hansen X-treme Wear - Red Carpet

Hey there!

So what you are going to see today is my Halloween manicure. I was 'Where's Waldo' so I chose this pretty sparkly red to go with my outfit :) I apologize in advance for not having better pictures of this, I was in a hurry and wasn't able to take many. So this one is what we are stuck with! Check out SH - Red Carpet.

Ooooohhh it's so pretty. It reminds me of Dorothy's Slippers. This is a red jelly base with red glitter. There is so much depth to this polish that I was not able to capture, but trust me.. it's amazing!  Formula was okay, it took three coats to become opaque, which is okay with me, because the result was fab!

Welp that's all for today, folks! Thoughts on Red Carpet?
