Hi people!
Today I am reviewing the new China Glaze Summer Neons collection for Summer 2012. This is a 12 piece collection of awesome NEON polishes, and I am showing them to you in two separate posts. Today is part 1! :D
For swatches, I took all photos under my Ottlite (artificial sunlight lamp). Since these are all neons, they dry semi-matte, so I used top coat on all of them except one so you can get an idea of how they look glossy and semi-matte.
Ready for some hot neon fun?!
I'm with the Lifeguard is a retina searing lime green with shimmer. I'm not usually one for lime greens like this, but I was surprised how much I liked it. 3 coats.
Sun-Kissed is the definition of hi-lighter yellow (but shimmery!) This freaked my camera out of course, but it is awesomely neon. 3 coats.
Orange You Hot? This is like macaroni and cheese, but electrified. Its a super intense citrus orange with gold shimmer. 3 coats.
Flirty Tankini is a coral pink with subtle blue shimmer. Super pretty and absolutely perfect for summer. This one is being shown without a glossy top coat so you can see what they dry like. 2 coats.
Pink Plumeria is a light coral-y pink with gold shimmer. This one is my second favorite of the bunch. I think it is easier to wear than some of these neons, and I like it on me. 3 coats.
Surfin' For Boys is this INSANE bright bright bright coral with the prettiest shimmer. This is another one that for the life of me I couldn't capture in a picture. It must be seen in person to understand the true awesomeness of this polish. Clearly my hands down favorite of this half. Could you tell? I included a second photo of Surfin' For Boys in natural light so you could get a better idea of the color. 2 coats.
Overall I am digging this neon collection. They all have this really pretty shimmer that sets them apart from other neons that have come out in past years collections. These will look awesome with a tan this summer!
The formula on these was not hard to work with at all. Sometimes when I think of neons I think '1000 streaky coats for full coverage and 3 hours to dry'.. seriously. But that was not the case! They flowed on the nail nicely, dried quickly and look fantastic.
What do you guys think about these? Any must haves? For me they are Surfin' For Boys and Pink Plumeria. Also if you don't have a great hi-lighter yellow Sun-Kissed is pretty awesome!
The China Glaze Summer Neons collection will be available in June 2012 at fine salons and beauty supply stores and will retail for $7/ea.
