Hey everyone,
Today's post is going to get a bit personal. But I felt the need to share. The title is taken from 'To Write Love on Her Arms'. If you have never heard of TWLOHA, I will give you a brief rundown. It is a non profit organization that is about spreading hope for those suffering from depression, addiction, self injury and thoughts of suicide, while also investing in treatment and recovery.
You may be thinking, okay, that's really great, but what does that have to do with nail polish? Well, today, November 13 is recognized in some regions as To Write Love on Her Arms Day. Where people write Love on their arms, to spread awareness and to show support of the organization and those suffering. It is also on this same date, two years ago, that my college roommate committed suicide.
So in support of To Write Love on Her Arms day, instead of writing love on my arm, I thought I would write love on my nails. Check it out.
For this look I used Jessica Monarch and LVX Livid.
For more information on TWLOHA check out their website here.
LOVE This :)

DeleteThis is beautiful!! And thank you for explaining TWLOHA :) I didn't really know what it was, but I have seen people posts pics with LOVE on their arms a few years ago. I have had depression for 18 years, and my husband's best friend committed suicide years ago :(

I'm so sorry about your struggle with depression, Patricia. Though I personally have never had depression, I have a few close friends that battle it on a daily basis, so hang in there, girl.
DeleteI'm a big fan of TWLOHA, and this mani is such a cool twist on showing your support.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Taryn.
DeleteAww, this looks great, well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI love your rendition of TWLOHA! Very subtle, but graphic. <3
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThese nails are pretty alone, but the meaning behind them is beautiful! I wish I would have known about TWLOHA day earlier so I could have taken part as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks! There is always next year :)
DeleteThis is a really lovely tribute to a beautiful cause. I am so sorry to hear about your roommate. Suicide is such a painful, senseless way to lose someone, and it is heartbreaking to imagine what the victim must have suffered to get to that place.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sarah, I really appreciate it. It was very tragic, and still is unreal. But thanks for your kind words, you're the best!
Deleteyes yes yes i love twloha!! i participate every year! i love that organization. this is a great mani! so pretty and for an amazing cause!
