Wet n' Wild - The Crown is Mine

Hi there!

Today I am showing you a polish from the new Wet n Wild ColorIcon Be Jeweled collection, this is The Crown is Mine.  The new ColorIcon collection is said to be dupeable to the new China Glaze Prismatic collection, so when I spotted these at CVS I picked a few up!

The Crown is Mine is a sheer purplish blue base with multi colored glitter that shifts to pink, green and silver. What you see in this picture is three coats, it does dry kind of bumpy and gritty, so a few coats of top coat would be needed to smooth it out, but I kind of like the finish on this polish. It's different.

What do you guys think about The Crown is Mine? Have you spotted this new LE collection yet and if so, what did you pick up?

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Good to Grape

Hi there!

Today I am showing you a new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polish. This is called Good to Grape, I actually saw it on a new display at Ulta about a month ago and thought it was Limited Edition, but when I went to CVS the other day, it was on the core display on the wall (and it was on sale, BOGO50% Off) so I used that opportunity to pick this up!

What drew me to this polish back at Ulta awhile ago was that it looked like no other purple I had seen before. We've all seen the bright violet creme in Zoya Mira, RBL Mismas, Barielle Grape Escape and OPI Funky Dunkey, but this, this was different... like a fresh new take on the done to death purple creme. Take a look.

L-R, Good to Grape, Zoya Mira, Rescue Beauty Lounge Purple Haze

Now after the comparison picture I know what you're thinking. It looks pretty darn close to 'those purples' but trust me, it's not! It's lighter and bluer, and perfect. If RBL Mismas and Purple haze had a baby, it would be Good to Grape.

That being said, obviously I love this. The formula was excellent, just two easy coats for this to be opaque. What do you guys think? Has anyone picked this or any of the other new Sally Hansen CSM polishes up recently?

I will be showing you the other polish I got from this new addition to the core collection tomorrow. So stay tuned!

Deborah Lippmann - Ray of Light

Hi there!

I am very excited to show you a new Deborah Lippmann today. A few months ago she gave everyone a sneak peek picture on Facebook of a few of her new colors colors for Spring / Resort. Four of which have been released (Mermaid's Dream, On The Beach, Sweet Dreams) and this was the mystery polish. The other day I was stalking HSN and there it was 'Ray of Light' I didn't even give it a second thought before I put it in my virtual basket, and all of a sudden it was on its way to me!

I will say that this was one of the fastest shipping experiences I've ever had.. I ordered this and a few other Deborah Lippmann's from HSN on Saturday, and they came Tuesday. WOO! That's service! Okay I'll shut up now and let you look at the pics!

So I think that Ray of Light is super pretty, I'll give it that. But I will not give it two thumbs up on the formula, wanna know why? It sucked. It was so thick and goopy, but at the same time it wasn't a nightmare to apply, it was just really thick. Like, annoyingly thick. I used two coats for the photos above.

In the bottle the flakes look like that have a slight color shift, but on the nail they are predominantly copper. I like that they kind of sink into the blue polish too, it gives a pretty and subtle effect. It does dry bumpy, but adding a top coat shines it right up and smooths out the bumps.

What do you guys think about Ray of Light? Will you be picking it up? I think that this is already sold out on HSN, but as far as I know it is still available on the Deborah Lippmann website. Hurry before it's gone! :)

Ray of Light *quick pic*

Yes!! This is what you think it is. That's right, its Deborah Lippmann 'Ray of Light'. The mystery dark blue flakie that she teased us all with back in February.

I ordered this on HSN Saturday night and it's here now!! I will post swatches soon :)

Finger Paints - Circus Peanuts

Hey!

Today I am showing you Finger Paints - Circus Peanuts. Let me just say that I never EVER ever... ever gravitate towards these types of colors, I have an idea in my head that they will just look horrible and that is the end of it. But this.. this is amazing. I still can not get over how much I like it!

It is so bright and fun, and to my surprise it doesn't look hideous on me! Obviously I own nothing like it, so its unique in my stash, and overall I am really pleased with how it looks! I am going to try to promise myself that I won't write off colors like this anymore, because I may just be pleasantly surprised!

P.S. What does everyone think about the last 'far away' picture? I thought it gave a nice perspective of the color. Anyway, thoughts on Circus Peanuts?

OPI Holland - Red Lights Ahead.. Where?

Hi there!

Today I am showing you OPI Red Lights Ahead..Where? From the Holland Spring 2012 collection. This is a BRIGHT cherry red, that's really all I have to say about it, it's bright, it's red, and it's fun!

Formula on this was really good, shown above is two coats, I didn't have any streaking issues or anything. I will say however that this was tricky to remove because it is so pigmented, it will stain if you're not careful, and your skin will be left bright red!

So, what do you think about Red Lights Ahead..Where?

Finger Paints - Choco Mint

Hi there!

Today I am showing you a Finger Paints Choco Mint from the Gumdrops & Lollipops collection for Spring 2012. This is a really pretty vibrant mint creme, I don't think it's all that unique, but it is still a nice color for Spring. Take a look!

My nails kind of matched my shirt, so of course I had to take  a pic!

The formula on this was really nice, it was very easy to apply and it was perfect in two coats. Like I said earlier, it's a nice color, but far from groundbreaking.

ALSO I'd like to thank  My Lucid Bubble for sending me this polish out of the kindness of her heart- so thank you, again! :D

What do you guys think about Choco Mint? I forgot to mention that I love the name of this polish (Mint Chocolate Chip is my absolute favsies ice cream flavor) So even if it is similar to something in my collection, I'm still keeping it.

Essence - A Lovely Secret

Hey there!

Today I am showing you a new Essence Colour & Go polish, this is A Lovely Secret. A cool toned lavendar with dark purple specks and pink shimmer.

It is very different than your usual Spring lavender. Because it is so complex, of course I had a hard time capturing the true beauty, but I gave it a whirl anyway!

Formula was really nice on this one, it was perfect in two coats, and dry time was awesome. I was literally ran out the door after applying this, and though I was pretty careful, I didn't have any bump marks or anything, just a nice glossy, shimmery purple!

As if I need another reason to love this polish, it was SUPER cheap! Though keep in mind it is a mini size, it was only $.99 (what a deal!) and I found mine at Ulta.

What do you guys think? Will you be picking this up on your next Ulta excursion?

New York City Ballet by OPI Swatches & Review

Hi readers!

Today I am reviewing a few of the polishes from the new New York City Ballet by OPI Soft Shades collection for Spring 2012. This collection consists of five sheers and one glitter top coat. I will be reviewing three of the six!

My pictures will show three coats of the base polish in the first picture, then one coat of the glitter top coat over the base in the second picture, and the third picture will be a 'jelly sandwich' with the base layered on top of the glitter top coat, creating a fun effect! Let's get to the swatches!

My Pointe Exactly is a soft sheer gray. I couldn't get over how much I liked this one! I think it looks really nice and I don't think I have ever seen a sheer jelly gray before, so OPI really raised the 'barre' on this one.. get it? Ha ha..

Care to Danse? is a soft sheer lilac that again, I really liked. Usually I am not one for sheers because I don't like my VNL, but I see myself reaching for this in the future when I want a clean and fresh manicure.
Pirouette My Whistle over Care to Danse?

Care to Danse? and Pirouette My Whistle jelly sandwich!

All in all, I am really impressed by the formula of these polishes, they looked fantastic in three coats and I didn't have any issues with streaking or unevenness that often comes hand in hand with sheers. The glitter top coat is really nice too, I am excited to play around with it more!

I like the 'jelly sandwich' method that I tried with these polishes. I think it gives the manicure more depth, and it's a super fun and easy way to switch it up!

What do you guys think? Will you be picking up any of the polishes that I have shown you today? Or do you have your eye on another color in the collection?

These will all be available in April 2012, and they retail for $8.50 each. For more information visit www.opi.com. Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

Nicole by OPI Target Exclusives for Spring 2012 Swatches & Review

Hey there!

Today I am reviewing the Nicole by OPI Target Exclusive collection for Spring 2012. This is a small, but nice collection. (I only have three of the four to show you)

Purple Yourself Together is a red toned purple with lots of gold shimmer in it. This has finer shimmer than what we have seen in Zoya Tru, OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI and Jessica Witchy Wisteria, the base is much more vibrant than those too. It still has a similar idea though. This was three coats, the formula was pretty thin, but it built up nicely. Very pretty.

Look at Me, Look at Me is a multi colored glitter that has mainly blue, silver and pink glitter. I could NOT get over the formula on this one, it was perfect in two coats, which is unheard of for a glitter. The texture of the glitter is really fine, and dries matte, so a top coat is necessary for this baby to shine. The name really says it all, this polish begs for attention! It's really blingy, I love it.

Great Minds Pink Alike is a bright coral pink with bright pink shimmer. The formula on this was a bit runny and I had some pooling issues when I tried it the first time, but the second time I was much more careful and it turned out better. This color is very nice for spring and summer, and I think it would look especially nice on toesies! Three coats.

Overall I am really liking all three of these. There is a fourth polish in this collection that I do not have, That's Totally Red-ical! which is a red with slight shimmer. My must have is Look at Me, Look at Me! I am just really loving that glitter, and usually I'm not a huge fan of glitters, but the formula on it really blew me away.

What do you guys think you will be picking up from this collection? Thoughts?

These new Target exclusive shades will be available March 2012 for $7.04 each at select Target locations nationwide and Target.com.

China Glaze - Gothic Lolita

Hi there!

Today I am showing you the second polish that I got from the Spring 2012 China Glaze Electro Pop collection. This is Gothic Lolita, a pretty red toned purple with a creme-shimmer finish, if that makes sense. It looks creme most of the time, but there IS shimmer, it's just not that noticeable. Take a looksie!

The formula on this was really nice, it was opaque in two coats and just flowed really nicely on my nails. I barely required any clean up!

What do you guys think about Gothic Lolita? Have you picked this up or any of the other colors from the Electro Pop collection?

Nicole by OPI Wel-Kim to My World Swatches & Review

Hi readers!

Today I am reviewing the Nicole by OPI Wel-Kim to My World Spring 2012 Collection inspired by Kim Kardashian. This collection is nice for Spring, and consists of three cremes (I only have two, one broke on it's way to me!) two shimmers and a glitter top coat. Let's get to the swatches!

Kim Konfidential is a yellow toned nude creme. I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. The formula was terrific, even though I needed three coats, they were easy coats and dried pretty fast.

Here I am showing you Kim Konfidential with one coat of the glitter in the collection, Here Kim's The Sun. I think it adds a nice little flair, without being over the top.

Up and Kim-ing Pink is a bright bubblegum pink. I had no issues with formula, it went on great in two coats. But something was telling me I had something just like this in my collection. I was right. Keep reading ;)

Up & Kim-ing Pink with one coat of Here Kim's the Sun. It kind of reminds me of those tiny crystal sprinkles. Pretty!

Below is Up & Kim-ing Pink on the right and OPI Pink Friday on the left. They look like dupes to me!

Lights Kim-era Action! Is a pearly opalescent white that . I can honestly say I don't own anything like this. I always steer clear of colors like this, for fear of thick formula and brush strokes, but I have to say this one is pretty awesome. Formula was great, a bit sheer at first but it looks perfect in three coats. I'm really pleased with this one!
Lights Kim-era Action! Macro

Nothing Kim-pares to Blue is a nice bright sky blue with fine silvery micro shimmer. The formula was nice and fell in line with the rest of the collection, though the first coat went on a bit thin, it turned out beautifully after three easy coats. I think this one is really pretty, and would be flattering on a lot of people.
Nothing Kim-pares to Blue Macro

Overall this collection is really nice. I didn't have any formula issues, and it is very fitting for Spring! Again just to let you know there is one more that got broken in translation, and that is Others Pale by Kim-parison.

What do you guys think about this collection? Any faves? My must haves are Nothing Kim-pares to Blue and Lights Kim-era Action! But the rest are nice too, just not completely ground breaking.

This collection will be available in April and they will retail for $7.99 each. For more information, visit nicolebyopi.com. Follow Nicole by OPI on Twitter @NicoleByOPI and become aFacebook fan!

Thank you to everyone who entered! :)

Jessica Heavy Petal Collection Swatches & Review

Hey there!

Today I am reviewing the Jessica Cosmetics Heavy Petal collection for Spring 2012. I am SUPER excited to be showing you this 6 piece collection, so lets get started shall we?

Born 2 Pansy is very light lilac with duochrome blue and green shimmer. The formula on this was pretty good, at first it was a bit sheer, but I think it looks great after three coats. I love this one, I don't have anything like it!

Witchy Wisteria is a red leaning purple with gold shimmer. This is something that we have seen before in colors like Zoya Tru and OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI, but if you don't have either of those, this is a great choice! Formula was nice and easy, opaque in two coats.

Geranium Gypsy is a light purple frost. I was expecting application on this to be a nightmare like all other frosts, but it wasn't too terrible! When applying frosts it is easier to paint the sides first and then down the middle of the nail last to minimize brush strokes. I really like the color of this, but I would prefer a shimmer or cream finish. Two coats for full opacity.

Rolling Rose is a light baby pink with the same duochrome shimmer that we saw in Born 2 Pansy. Formula was the same as B2P and it looked really nice in three coats. Very pretty! I wish I still  had my Nicole by OPI Kim-pletely In Love (I gave it away) because I feel like that may be pretty close to this.

Hotter than Hibiscus has the same frosty finish as Geranium Gypsy. The formula was pretty nice to work with, I would just personally prefer a creme or shimmer finish, but those of you who like frosts, this is a really nice color, I think it would flatter most skin tones. Two coats.

Dazed Dahlia is a pretty berry creme with a super shiny finish. Formula on this one was outstanding, I only needed one coat for full opacity, we all love one coaters!

So that wraps up the Heavy Petal collection! What do you guys think? Which ones will you be picking up? My must haves are Born 2 Pansy and Rolling Rose, that shimmer is just so pretty!

The collection is available now, and each one retails for $7.50 and can be purchased at http://www.jessicacosmetics.com/
