Shopping in My Stash - Zoya Faye

Hi there!

Today I am 'shopping in my stash' again. This is Zoya Faye a super pretty mauve foil with tons of gold shimmer. This is a chameleon, it changes from mauve to gold in different lighting, and it is constantly shimmering.
When I was trying to figure out what to put on my nails the other day, I thought this polish deserved some love. So here is Faye

Sunlight

Shade

Unintentionally matched my shirt!

Such a pretty color! This was the first in a string of similar/dupe polishes that came out last summer. (OPI Rally Pretty Pink, OPI It's My Year, Orly Oui, etc) and I just love it. I love how it looks in all lighting, and I love the heavy gold shimmer. The formula on this one is a bit sheer, I needed 3 coats for full coverage, but for a polish this pretty - I don't mind the extra work!

What do you guys think about Faye? Do you own this or any of the dupes for it?

Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan Collection - Cuprum

Hi there!

I have one gorgeous polish to show you today! This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Cuprum from the Fan Collection. Cuprum is the only one that I passed on when I pre ordered the other three from the collection. The swatches that I saw of this before ordering simply did not wow me.
After the collection was released to the public it seemed that everywhere I looked people were saying 'you must see this in person to appreciate it' and 'pictures do not do this justice'. So here we are, I caved and decided that I *needed* this, so I ended up swapping for it, and now it is on my nails!

Ottlite

Shade

Sunlight

Shade Macro

Yep. Everyone was right. My pictures do not do this justice. You must see Cuprum in person to see how it just glows, and how no matter what lighting you are in, it KEEPS glowing! The copper flecks plus the bright intense blue base is a match made in heaven. I do however wish there were more copper flakes in this, but it does just fine how it is. Formula was also nice, I only needed two coats.

So, who owns Cuprum out there, and tell me, how much do you love it!? I was so surprised at how much I ended up liking this. It is easily climbing it's way to one of my favorite RBLs. It is just gorge!

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color Swatches & Review

Hi there!

I am excited for today's post! I am showing you three of the new Sally Hansen Magnetic nail colors. This is my first time trying the magnetic polishes, and before I go any further I have to say that I didn't give them enough credit before. They are so cool!

Sally Hansen describes the process "as the magnet is held over the nail, the iron fillings in the formula gravitate toward the magnet forming the pattern secretly hidden in the magnet for an astonishing finish!"

How to Use
Step 1: Apply 1 coat of Magnetic Nail Color to all 10 nails and let dry.
Step 2: Apply a thick second coat of nail color to 1 nail and immidiately hold the magnet over the nail. Rest the guide just below the cuticle without touching the wet polish. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat for all 10 nails!

For swatches the first two pictures are shown under an Ottlite, and the third picture is indoor natural light (in front of my window) Ready to see these magnetic wonders?

Red-y Response is a shimmery berry color that changes to dark purple, almost black, when the magnet is held to it. Very pretty base color, and the effect is very obvious. No problems with formula on this one!

Golden Conduct is my favorite. It changes to darker coppery brown when magnetized, but the best part is that this beautiful shimmer comes out and it just absolutely glows. This one also had the best magnet effect, it's super gorgeous! Very easy to work with.

Graphite Gravity was my problem child. Don't get me wrong though, the problems were not that bad, it just wasn't as wonderful as the first two. I had trouble getting this one to magnetize, just look at my ring finger, I redid it a few different times thinking that maybe I waited too long and the polish dried, or the magnet wasn't close enough- but no, I tried it all and my ring finger just would not cooperate.

What I liked about these:
The paddle brush was small and super easy to work with, I barely needed any clean up.
These dry super fast
The magnet is built into the cap of the polish (removable) so it is all in one package!
Very easy to use, especially for a newbie like me
They come in a wide variety of colors

What do you guys think about these magnetic polishes? Have you tried any of these yet? If you have, which ones have you tried, and if not will you be picking any of these up to try out?

These retail for $9.99 and can be purchased wherever Sally Hansen cosmetics are sold.

F4 Polish - S'mores & Mint Chocolate Chip Swatches & Review

Hey there!

Today I have some really fun polishes from an up and coming indie brand to show you. These are F4 polishes, made by three sisters, and they are Big 3 Free. Their line features tons of cute glitter polishes, I have two to show you today, and two more to show you soon, but let me tell you- I want many many more! Shall we get to the swatches?

S'Mores is large white and brown hex glitter, smaller hex copper glitter and tiny brown glitter in a clear base. I love the variety of brown and copper glitter, mixed in with white. It is a really cool look! I used two coats of S'Mores over Jessica Sunrise for the first picture, and didn't find myself having to place the glitter anywhere, what you see is what you get! The second picture I wanted to try S'Mores out over a nude (NOPI Kim Konfidential - middle) and by itself (pinky). It looks great layered, and by itself.
Macro

Mint Chocolate Chip is a soft mint green creme with tiny brown glitter, executing the idea of mint chocolate chip ice cream perfectly. I love this one, and the formula was great, I only needed two coats.

Overall I am very impressed with these polishes AND with F4 customer service. With all the indie drama lately, working with F4 was a breath of fresh air; they are super sweet girls, and they have a great selection of awesome polishes.

As I said earlier in this post, I have two more F4 polishes to show you, so keep your eyes open for those coming soon!

You can purchase F4 polishes in their Etsy shop. Full sized bottles are $8 and mini bottles are $3.50.

Products provided for honest review.

Sally Hansen Rock of Ages Salon Effects - Star Quality

Hi there!

TGIF! Today I have something super fun to show you. This is one of the new Sally Hansen Rock of Ages Nail Strips designs. This design is called Star Quality. It is a bright fuchsia with an all over navy blue star design. The stars look like they are distressed / faded, giving it a really edgy feel.

Each Salon Effects kit includes 16 nail strips, a cuticle stick, mini file/buffer and easy to follow instructions on how to apply. These last up to 10 days, and they're great for the girl on the go, because they require no dry time! Just apply the strips, file the excess from the edge, and you're good to go. They can be removed with nail polish remover.

Ready to see Star Quality?

Natural Light Indoors

Direct Sunlight

Shade

I really like this design! I wore it all of last weekend (I don't think my workplace would appreciate bright pink nails with stars, haha!) But they were very fun to wear over the weekend, and I got a ton of compliments on them.

Best part; they were very easy to apply! Fortunately, I am getting better at applying nail strips, I didn't have any wrinkles this time (yay!) you know what they say - practice makes perfect. I think that beginners would not have any problems applying these and having great results.

The Rock of Ages Salon Effects are available for $9.99 each and are available wherever Sally Hansen products are sold.

What do you guys think about Star Quality? Will you be picking up this design or any of the other Rock of Ages Salon Effects? I have a few more to show you too, so keep your eyes open for those upcoming posts!

Simple Stripes

Hey people!

Happy Thursday! I have been trying to work on my nail art skills recently. I feel like you guys want to see more of that (well, I gather this from the amount of love I get from any post that shows nail art!)
So here I am, taking baby steps into the world of nail art, and today I am showing you a simple stripe design that I did as an accent nail.
I used Essie Sand Tropez, OPI Red Lights Ahead..Where? and Jessica Cosmetics Dazed Dahlia for this look.

Are you ready for my inspiration??
This shirt.

I know I know, inspired by a shirt (which my twin got for me - so if you're reading this, thanks Ab!) But I love the wide stripes and bold colors with a neutral. So there you have it!

I hope you guys liked my simple stripe mani, I did cheat a little bit and use tape to get clean lines. I'm not THAT good yet! ;)

NYC Matte Me Crazy over Lady Sings the Blues

Hey people!

Today's post is yesterday's manicure, but MATTIFIED! I was wearing Lady Sings the Blues when I said to myself  "How cool would this look matte?" Well here you have the product of that thought!

I used the new NYC Matte Me Crazy Mattifying Top Coat to get the perfect matte effect on top of LSTB. I loved watching the base transform from glossy to matte with one coat of Matte Me Crazy. Check out pictures below!

This top coat worked really quickly, and it made a very even matte finish on top of Lady Sings the Blues. I love the result, I think it looks awesome! I just used one coat of Matte Me Crazy on top of my existing manicure and it worked great and dried fast.

What do you guys think about this matte look? If you want to achieve something similar, be sure to pick up the new NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat!

Deborah Lippmann - Lady Sings the Blues

Hey there!

Today I am showing you something that has been on my wishlist forever, but just finally got around to owning through a swap. This is Deborah Lippmann Lady Sings the Blues. It is a gorgeous navy packed with large hex and smaller blue glitter. Take a look at this stunning blue!

*Dies* How pretty is this? I love how the glitter is suspended in the base of the polish, almost giving it a 'jelly sandwich' effect. Formula was awesome, it was perfect in two coats, the base was so creamy!

Best part is I didn't have to place the glitter anywhere, what you see is what you get, and I just love love love the end result!

What are you thinking about Lady Sings the Blues? I was afraid this would be too close to Across the Universe, but they are SO different, so if that is stopping you from getting this, don't let it- they are gorgeous in their own ways!

My Favorite Red!

Hello!

I hope you guys are enjoying these 'favorite' posts as much as I am enjoying doing them! I love to look through what I have and pick out my absolute favorite, it's so fun! Today I am showing you my all time favorite red.

This one was hard to narrow down because there are SO many great reds out there, and I love them all! But after much deliberation, I came down to my hands down favorite. This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Bangin.

I love this red for more than just the color, which is amazingly hot. But the formula on Bangin is what put it above the other reds in my collection. Upon the first coat of application, you get the bottle color. I don't know how many other reds I can say that about. Needing only two flawless coats, this polish is totally BANGIN!

I also love how this polish makes me feel when I wear it. Which is super sexy. Everyone needs a go-to red polish that makes them feel that way, and this one is mine.

If you like this and can't live without it, I strongly suggest you head over to http://www.rescuebeauty.com/ and pick yourself up a bottle. The inventory is running low and once this baby is sold out, it's gone forever.

Thoughts on my favorite red? Please tell me what yours is!

Shopping in My Stash; Essie - Your Hut or Mine?

Hello there!

I am trying this new thing.. it's called 'shopping in my stash' where I wear polishes that I already own, instead of buying new ones. What a strange idea! Haha! But I love that this is giving me a way to go through my stash and use polishes a second or third time and give them the love that they so derserve!

Today's pick is Essie Your Hut of Mine? This came out last summer in the Resort Collection. This is a great medium pink with super pretty shimmer, let's check it out.

I just love this! When the collection first came out I knew that this polish had to be mine. The pink is unlike any other pink I own, it is a grown up pink without being boring, and the shimmer is gorgeous.

Formula was excellent, what you see above is two coats, and dry time was great too! I have been in a hurry with my manicures lately, so I love me a polish that dries quick and looks great.

What do you guys think about Your Hut or Mine? Do you own this? If not, and you want to own it, it can still be found for a reasonable price on ebay & Amazon.

Orly - After Party

Hello people!

Today I have a super gorgoeus polish to show you. This is Orly After Party  from the Summer 2012 Feel the Vibe collection. In a collection of neons, this one stood out as the oddball, but definitely not in a bad way, no no, this is an awesome oddball! Take a look.

This is a black that seems really dark purple because of all the crazy shimmer. It is packed with purple, pink and blue shimmer. Super gorgeous. I used two coats for the photos above, and it dries kind of matte, so a glossy top coat is a must to make it shine!

What do you guys think about After Party? Have you picked this up or any other colors from the Feel the Vibe Collection? If so, which ones? :)
